Hi Alexandria, I'm sorry it took a while to reply, I've been recovering from a medical procedure. That's a great question. Before the protests, there were other signs of changes in education, partly due to COVID which accelerated options for online study. As for your question, I drew the following card: The Tower. In this image, figures are thrown out of a building. Or are the people in the building attempting to overthrow the structure? It could be both, one followed from the other. There is chaos and disorder, but who is instigating the instability?
Generally, this card can be about something being exposed or coming to an end. Exposure of those who have taken certain actions or made statements that are deemed to be harmful will face consequences in their career. I say this because The Tower is sometimes about a job coming to an end. In a literal sense, this could indicate people leaving an institution, followed by a transformation in the structure (tower). The very structure of some parts of higher education will be questioned and adjustments will be made as a result. This is partly to keep institutions functioning as a business.
It can also denote a disruption that gets disrupted. I would take this to mean that the nature of the protests will change. As the disruption in this card indicates, many of them are forced to come to an end. Those that don't entirely go away shift their focus to protesting about something else (or at least seeming to), because The Tower brings major change.
While the immediate events depicted in this card are not considered positive, they often lead to awakening. Hidden problems that are being brought to light will present an opportunity for improvement. This is just the first card that came up and we can look into it more with additional cards another time. I hope that helps for now!
