“Adventure to the Future: Predictive Dreams and Future Life Progressions I”
Predictions Confirmed
Before we explore tarot, rune stone, and astrology predictions for August through September, the following section is a review of previous “News from the Future” predictions that are now in the news.
I. “Mass Suicide” of Humanity Predicted in 1999 Reading, Published 26 September 2017
Prediction Confirmed: 18 July 2022
The Guardian published the following prediction today. UN secretary general António Guterres warns that: “humanity faces ‘collective suicide’”.
When predictions are being made about future news with the help of spiritual tools, it’s important to know that words seen or sensed in advance might anticipate upcoming headlines or conversations, but don’t necessarily describe the events that will occur. This 1999 precognition is one example of a prediction that is showing up as a warning that is reflected in news headlines, rather than an experience that already happened. The difference between experience and theory when applied to psychic phenomena has some similarities in common with the contrast between phenomenology and epistemology. Phenomenology relates to experience, whereas experience epistemology (from the Greek word “pistis”, meaning faith or trust) is theoretical and knowledge-based. Predictions of future news can often anticipate actual events but sometimes projections foresee newspaper publications or television broadcasts.
Defying Predictions with Proven Actions
As long as the right actions are taken by enough people and in time, some problematic events can be minimised or avoided. There is a connection between climate issues and violent conflict, in that the former gives rise to the latter. Can world war and “collective suicide” that news articles are predicting be evaded? Absolutely, action can be taken, but it has to be a priority for many more people before an impact is felt. According to a 2018 paper published in Science, the tipping point for system change is 25%. Therefore, we need 25% of the world population, or about 2 billion people, to change the system and save our future. This is possible and we can make it happen. However, the faster it happens and the more of us who get involved, the better future we’ll have.
There is no logical purpose to regretting what hasn’t been done. Remorse is wasted energy that could be redirected towards activism and service to society. Not acting now will only result in further self-reproach. It is possible to transform the past by making amends if needed, which frees people to move on as soon as they can. Perhaps you have already gone on this spiritual journey of clearing up the past which is helping you to focus on the present. If you have made amends, you may find that you are able to be more present for yourself and those who need you. Self-forgiveness and forgiveness of others can expand possibilities mentally and amplify physical energy. Following a period of forgiveness, this energy reserve will be available for problem-solving and engaging in subsequent productive actions.
The timing of all of this can be supported by astrology. In the conversation posted below that I had on Twitter yesterday with my friend Jessica Adams, we discussed some of the ways in which astrology intersects with activism and the theory of a 25% tipping point:
Astrology isn’t only about fate. Some things are destined, like our parents or the genetic makeup we’re born with, but there are often actions that can be taken to make life easier for ourselves and other living beings. If we get the option to alter our genetics in the future, the ones we were born with would still be predestined. If certain genes give someone the tendency to want to change their genes, would the altered genes also be predestined, or chosen?
While agency varies depending on the circumstances you’ve been given, and some lives are more imbued with freedom and choices than others, it is possible to decide how to react to whatever we’ve been given. In the interim between predestined events like being born and crossing over, astrology can provide warnings about potential problems which potentially helps actions to be taken before it’s too late. Astrological predictions can also make us aware of impending opportunities so we don’t miss out on events that might be beneficial to ourselves and others.
II. UK Tarot Poem Prediction: 27 July 2019
Q. “What’s coming up for the future of the UK government?”
A. I answered a similar question that @BalChats asked on Twitter on July 27th, 2019. After I pulled a card to answer the question, the Queen of Swords, I posted a poetry reply:
This channeled poem in combination with the Queen of Swords tarot seems to suggest that a new UK government is on the way soon, with treaties that will be written by younger generations. Because this tarot-inspired poem included the term “world treaties”, this phenomenon is predicted to occur not only within but also outside of the UK. New treaties that address climate and environmental issues will be a global phenomenon, including in the US.
Swords Cards and Air Sign Astrology
One of the greatest changes in our world will be the exaltation of those who are in pain and the humbling of the ones holding onto excessive power, such as dictators and demagogues. Extreme attempts at control will be met with extreme resistance by the masses. Humility and rewards for suffering are associated with Piscean times. Hence, this governmental shift in the UK and elsewhere will be more noticeable when both Aquarius and Pisces are prominently featured astrologically, which happens to be in 2023. Power struggles between classes will be notable throughout Neptune in Pisces, especially once Saturn is in Pisces and Pluto moves into Aquarius in March 2023. After this period, there can be a gradual shift in power that continues until at least 2026. We are ok the verge of what will probably be the biggest class war so far. This time the class “war” will play out on a broader, more international level, partly due to the organising capacity of social media.
From 2025-2039, Neptune in Aries brings about a revolution in spirituality, a rebranding of recent religions, and a new attitude toward old drugs, as well as an increased ability to access cures through altered states. An end to Neptune in Pisces, in addition to periods between 2023 and 2039 when Neptune in Aries intersects with Pluto in Aquarius, is predictive of mainstream rejection of hierarchical systems and an increase in equity. One example of that Neptune-Pluto transition will be a decrease in houselessness, a change in the concept of what is meant by “home”, and a rise in communal lifestyles and innovations.
The Anti-War Spirit of Aquarius and Pisces
Returning to the Queen of Swords tarot card poem above, another aspect of this prediction that is underway is the following phrase: “currency falls as colonies rise”. Colonialism has not gone away and Russia is attempting to colonise Ukraine. The poem mentions US and UK involvement, and they are involved in terms of providing support to Ukraine. However, the prediction is entitled “The End of an Era of Empires”, meaning that colonialism is on its way out even as it seems to be increasing. The clue to how this will happen is in the phrase about currency: “currency falls as colonies rise”, which means that an economic failure caused by neocolonialism will prompt heightened questioning about the purpose of imperialism and war. Of course, there is no merit to violence and destruction and war shouldn’t exist anymore. As recorded in 1970 by The Temptations and performed by Edwin Starr in 1969: “War…(good God)/What is it good for?/Absolutely nothing!” (Lyrics by Norman Whitfield and Barrett Strong). The most momentous anti-war spirit since the Vietnam War is on its way in a matter of months. This rebirth of an upcoming peace-promoting musical, artistic, and theatrical period will be borne of an attempt to suppress an even greater threat in the form of global war.
Historically, colonialism and war were justified by claiming to be profitable. If that is no longer the case, how can military-industrial complexes continue to justify their oppressive systems? Yes, conflict continues to generate profits for a few, but the percentage of people who benefit from these systems is getting smaller all the time. Additionally, social media is helping to make the absurdity of bellicosity more obvious and even laughable. The quality of life for the majority is diminishing, and future news articles and op-ed pieces will increasingly question military expenditures, especially in the United States.
The only way that excessive military expenditures can remain “relevant” when there is little or no economic value is by claiming these systems exist for our “protection”. Therefore, expect significant fearmongering about security threats in near-future US news. That’s nothing new, but there will be more of it in new news. Once in a rare while, those fears will have a basis in reality, but most of these manufactured problems will be provoked by the very systems that claim to protect our interests. Future news that looks back on these times will suggest that we should have been questioning the origin of all media content, including potential motivations, biases, and especially funding sources—which is something we have the power to investigate right now and that many of you are probably already doing.
The following Queen of Swords-inspired poetic tarot prediction was channeled a couple of years ago, so maybe new treaties are on the way in three to eight years at this point? At least that’s what came up in the cards at the time:
“The End of an Era of Empires”
There’ll be no exit from a No Deal Brexit,
‘Twas destined from the start,
UK and US spark a war that makes the empire era depart,
Currency falls as colonies rise and hot buttons set to restart,
In five to ten, the tides will turn to world treaties all writ by young hearts.
III. US Tarot Poem Prediction: 27 July 2019
On July 29th, 2019, @TheLadyCatEye asked about the future of Alaska. The card that answered this question in Elena’s reading on Twitter was the Eight of Pentacles Reversed. The following poem written under self-hypnosis and inspired by that reading indicates a future Russian “grab at capital” that would bring “folly” also referred to in this reading were layoffs and economic issues that trigger protests, and that these protests would become useful in protecting the environment. Incidentally, could this “folly” be referring to the colonising war in Ukraine? Or does “grab at capital” also foreshadow the Capitol riot that would later take place on January 6th, 2021?
Additionally, in 2019 “common enemies” were predicted to inspire statewide friend connections. Could this refer to states with more freedom offering refuge or sanctuary to those in states with diminishing rights? Doe example, on the 4th of July weekend this year, California governor Gavin Newsom ran an ad on Fox News in Florida, inviting Floridians to move to California where they “still believe in freedom”:
Will Alaska and other states turn bluer, or less red, in future elections in the wake of recent ideologically driven, far-right supreme court rulings? Or is another concept about to usurp the perceived binary of a “red” and “blue” party system? Who decided to dilute US parties into the colours of bruises: red, blue, and their combination of purple? In a way, it makes sense that party colours under the largest and most highly funded military-industrial complex in the history of the world would be represented by a sign of violence in the form of bruising.
The future of the rest of this predictive poem remains to be seen:
“Friendship is the Final Frontier”
Layoffs trigger protests that become the Earth’s protection,
A Russian gran at capital brings folly-fated fortune,
Common enemies inspire statewide friend connections,
The Last Frontier’s the first to steer from red to blue elections.

August-September: Devil, The Tower
The Devil is essentially a card of being bound to materialism by temptations of money and/or power, as symbolically depicted in the image of this card. The figures are bound to a larger being who abuses his power by keeping them chained to his domain. The man’s tail has been torched by the demon’s fire, and the woman’s tail is made of grapes. The fire and grapes may represent pleasure and lust. This card is about being pleasure-seeking to the point that one’s spiritual life has been forgotten or relinquished. The Devil can be associated with an empty feeling that no external substance or situation can fulfill.
The Devil sometimes refers to relationships that are maintained through a cycle of addictions and codependency, whereby one partner suffers from an obsession while the other enables and helps perpetuate that addictive state. This relationship can also be acted out by government officials, corporations, or countries.
Reversed, The Devil can denote a rejection of materialism, excessiveness, obsession, or toxic, abusive work or personal relationships.
A tower atop a precariously narrow mountain is on fire after being struck by lightning, and occupants are overthrown by this disaster as clouds of smoke consume this building where they were possibly once secure. A crown that previously occupied the top of the structure has been separated from its position.
The Tower can literally mean the loss of a position, but symbolically it can portend a repudiation of a mental state or belief system that no longer works for you. This card foretells an unexpected transformation. When I look at this card. I see a tower is built on a faulty foundation that cannot hold it when lightning strikes and ensuing heat prevails. This makes me think of the climate crisis, particularly the record-breaking heat many are experiencing this week in areas like the UK and Western Europe where buildings are not retrofitted for keeping heat out, only in. This crisis is even further along in parts of the Global South where people have been experiencing flooding, droughts, and food scarcity for years. The warnings we’re seeing now in the form of heatwaves, wildfires, and a near-future sudden rise in flooding will impel architectural adaptations as a necessary step towards survival. Sometimes these renovations will be possible and other times it will be necessary to move.
Excess productivity causes excess heat, but excess heat halts productivity.
Consequently, this card combined with current climate news issues can be interpreted as work-related. This trend represents an end to regimented work schedules. For some, it means adapting to a different environment or workspace or taking another job altogether. There will be mass protests in which work is refused, and these can evolve into added numbers of climate strikers. A changing climate means that corporations will have less control over schedules, even though they will try to control employee availability for as long as possible. Some large corporations with extensive resources at their disposal will try to control the weather by adjusting the internal temperature in buildings, but that tactic can only last for so long. The significant shift that’s occurring is akin to the human journey from being nomadic to developing agriculture, only this time some are about to become nomadic again. Food sources are on the precipice of radical change, and solutions will be both multifarious and creative.
The Tower Reversed is about the survival of a disaster or finding and implementing ways to avoid a problem, whether that is in one’s career, relationship, or other plans. More details on The Devil and The Tower are posted at the bottom of this article.
August-September Viking Rune Stone: Hagalaz
The Viking Rune Hagalaz, like The Tower, refers to a breakdown of old traditions and/or expectations. The disruption referred to by this stone is for a higher purpose, in order to let go of outdated theories and systems and make space for a better world. Overall, Hagalaz denotes profound change. While this rune can be a sign of “disruption and destruction” (more lyrics borrowed from the song “War”), Hagalaz forces change in order to update an outdated time period. Like The Tower, the transformation offered by Hagalaz can be abrupt, promptly leading to a new way of life.
World News from the Future
One Extreme Leads to Another
A combination of The Devil and The Tower heralds the end of an era. Failed theories that don’t work in practise are unraveling over the next couple of months and beyond, and this trend will continue until novel structures replace archaic constructs. These cards allude to a story about major events that cause something to fall apart in order to expedite a new way of life. These Major Arcana cards answer a question I asked about upcoming August to September news and thus point to major near-future events. The Tower plus The Devil equals a relinquishing of material items. However, the loss is not voluntary because The Tower insinuates that there will be an intervention from forces beyond our control. These changes have a function, in that short-term material loss will awaken enough people in order to get them to join that 25% we need to reach a tipping point and instigate needed system change. No one deserves to be going through what’s happening to the climate, but the “function” or “purpose” I refer to is the impetus to save ourselves and other species and make the best life we can with what we have.
One of the ways in which we are being forced into a collective awakening is through the rise of authoritarianism. While there is nothing positive about the threat of fascism, its presence is alarming enough that it will make activists of those who would otherwise ignore other issues such as the climate crisis. And why wouldn’t we ignore it? Don’t we all want to live an enjoyable life, be with the ones we love, and do the things that bring us the greatest happiness? That’s normal but the problem is that the things we want to do and the ways we want to spend our time won’t exist unless we fight for them. That isn’t fair and the greatest burden shouldn’t fall on those who have done the least to cause this. However, the signs are clear that more needs to be done, and by more of us. Everything we seek requires a stable climate. We are not invincible but we are convincible, and the powers of persuasion will be a valued skill in the upcoming era of climate survival. If we don’t listen to alarms that are attempting to awaken us right now so that we can survive, those signals will continue to intensify in frequency, severity, and literal loudness.
Eventually, a mass movement could potentially halt fossil fuel use which will also decrease the presence of those who abuse their power. If the threat of right-wing regimes awakens enough people to action, that energy can be translated into climate activism that has the potential to overturn (The Tower) a self-serving system that feeds greed more than people who are starving (The Devil). That transformation is apparently happening through disruption (Hagalaz). All of this activist action has to happen fast as the threat of fascism is rising quickly, but tyrannical tendencies can be reversed when enough of us work together to turn the tides of totalitarianism. After this period of awakening (which will clearly take more than the next couple of months that are covered by the cards in this article!), the right-leaning pendulum will inevitably swing back to the left. This philosophy as applied to history was reflected in the Hegelian Triadic Dialectic theory developed by theorist Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. In this theory, the thesis and antithesis, or opposing sides of an argument, eventually arise at a synthesis, in the form of a balance or compromise. As you can probably anticipate, this rise of right-wing authoritarianism will eventually result in a reactionary force that pushes these governments to the far left. Along the way, expect changes in rulers and topplings of governments as corrupt, autocratic regimes are overthrown by masses of protestors before the pendulum swings back again.
Intergenerational Ecocide
The Devil card refers to greed, and greed is a source of ecocide. Has a more far-reaching crime ever been committed besides ecocide? Ecocide initiates the preemptive suffering and genocide of those who have not yet been born, reaching into unknown centuries or millennia. The perpetrators circumvent justice because no amount of payment or imprisonment in this lifetime can come close to equalling the amount of imminent pain that they have caused. Ecocide is a preemptive attack not only on other places, as wars have been before, but on all future time periods. We have no point of reference to comprehend the scope of a massacre on such an extended timescale. Our minds aren’t typically trained to translate the notions of hundreds or thousands of years into equivalent emotional impact because it isn’t in our current or ancestral experience. Perhaps science fiction is an answer, as it tries to envision potential worlds beyond our own. Imagination and empathy are needed now more than ever, as film, theatre, art, and music can help us to project ourselves into the future and see through the eyes of those who have not yet come to life. The film Don’t Look Up is an example of bringing awakening through the medium of film by visually and auditorially presenting possibilities into which we can vicariously project ourselves.
Another source of wisdom in this area can be learned from Indigenous cultures which cultivate traditions that protect future generations. This is not my area of expertise so I would recommend reading works by Indigenous scholars that address environmental concerns.
Climate Karma
One way to become more effective as an activist is by increasing karmic awareness, which can foster an enhanced sense of responsibility and generosity. However, what if you don’t believe in karma? If karma happens to people who didn’t previously believe it existed, are they more likely to take up that belief? Karma is a cause-and-effect phenomenon that can play out within the confines of this lifetime, and I’ve seen it affect people quickly, unexpectedly, and specifically. No matter how specific the circumstances are that happen to someone who did the same or close to the same thing to someone else before, it’s still possible to be unaware of karmic repercussions. This denial can take the form of blaming and/or self-pitying. It is one choice to act on the assumption that karma is likely, which is safer than assuming it is unlikely. The worst that can happen is that someone was nice for no reason, leaving two beings feeling better than before! I am not telling you that you should believe in karma, and you can trust yourself to form your own beliefs. And even if you do trust in transmigration of the soul, some belief systems consider the possibility of a soul not returning to physical existence on Earth.
However, I could make choices with the assumption that I will be one of those who exists in a future generation. Based on that assumption, I would ask myself if the world we’re leaving behind is one I would want to be born into and therefore act accordingly. If I consider the possibility, no matter how minuscule, that I could be reborn into a future generation, I will more likely behave in a way that benefits the interests of future species. I don’t have to imagine who or how they will be because I will be identifying with them as similar to myself. I will therefore look out for their best interests as if they were my own family or even an extension of myself. All of life is connected, including the influence of those who lived in the past, all who live today, and the as-yet-unmet souls of successive generations.
Distinctive choices are likely to be made when considering rebirth as a possibility. In making those decisions and choosing alternative actions that potentially benefit future generations, the resulting emotion can be unlike any other. When actions are taken that support those we don’t know and may never meet, the feeling of gratification for this anonymous act of generosity becomes worthwhile in and of itself. Doing a good deed and not getting found out has a different consequential energy than expecting something in return. If anything, it is not a risk to try this experiment, but it will be possible to gain positive feelings, quality relationships, and other unseen benefits. There is no substitute for feeling satisfied after knowing a choice has been made that will help someone beyond ourselves.
Human motivation for acting in the best interests of a group can also arise from wanting to be perceived as societally desirable. The need to be accepted can be helpful to our collective survival because caring about what others think often causes us to treat one another better. Whatever one’s motivation may be for persuading those in power to stop fossil fuel use, it can help to begin from a place of assuring ourselves that there will be a reward. Whichever reward you believe in, at the very least you can expect to achieve positive feelings about yourself and a decreased dread about the future, because you will know you are doing as much as possible under the circumstances. There isn’t much time left for feeling fear when people are busy being helpful.
Intergalactic Reincarnation?
Can reincarnation happen in other galaxies? If there is life elsewhere, and if transmigration of the soul is possible, why not? While the life we know on Earth is rare, and therefore precious and unquestionably in need of heightened preservation and deepened appreciation, there could be lifeforms in other galaxies that we haven’t discovered yet. According to a NASA article from 2016, approximated numbers of existing galaxies were historically underestimated: “…Hubble Deep Field, taken in the mid-1990s, gave the first real insight into the universe's galaxy population…This led to an estimate that the observable universe contained about 200 billion galaxies. The new research shows that this estimate is at least 10 times too low”. Changes in what we thought we knew about the outer reaches of the universe demonstrate how estimates can be updated at any time in the future upon new discoveries. Images revealed by NASA in last week’s news offer a humbling, awe-inspiring suggestion that we still have so much more to learn about the physical universe: “NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has delivered the deepest and sharpest infrared image of the distant universe so far”. These pictures exist at a distance in both time and space, reminding us how much more matter endures beyond the things that we think matter.
“Preemptive Empathy” in Action
According to some variations of karmic theory, not every future experience is caused by personal actions. Karma can help with developing empathy and experiencing other perspectives from the point of view of who we were and what we did in the past, whether the impact was positive, negative, or neutral. However, some experiences have nothing to do with karma but can provide what I perceive as “preemptive empathy” in preparation for a future destiny. I think of this concept as being an opportunity to see through someone else’s eyes before you make a choice about how you want to interact with them. Preemptive empathy isn’t necessary for generating positive karma, but it can help to avoid mistakes when the next right action that should be taken isn’t clear. If you have already developed your empathy, perhaps your help will be needed at some point and you can use the empathy you acquired from previous suffering to assist those who struggle with similar problems. As much as you didn’t deserve to suffer, you can transform that experience if you use what you know to guide, comfort, or support someone else.
Some may think of karma as a system of punishments and rewards when justice systems fail to address fairness. Others might visualise it as an account balance with interest earned for good deeds and debts that must be paid for harms done to other living beings. An alternative to seeing karma as punishment is viewing it as a catalyst for magnifying empathy through common experiences. If what you give to others comes back to you, karma gives you an opportunity to see yourself through the eyes of those whose lives you touched. In other words, karma can give you a greater appreciation of yourself, even as you might be simultaneously experiencing positive feelings for the person who brings your former actions back to you.
In a way, karmic returns can help you travel to the past to see yourself. While this is a self that supposedly no longer exists, in a way it does, because you can see and sense and experience similar actions to the ones you took before they were brought back to you in another form. In that sense, you are viewing an image of your life from the past that you thought was gone but still exists, albeit outside yourself. When karmic experiences happen to you, it is almost like meeting your former self again. You become like the images in a telescope from a distant galaxy; a past self that was supposedly gone but can be seen again and again in pictures of future actions that go around and come around. If that’s the case, and if there is a karmic force that brings our previous actions back to us, does your past self still exist somewhere? If not, where are the energy of consequential actions and karmic repercussions being stored? Furthermore, what force is keeping track of this? And if it’s in our consciousness, where is that?
No matter where karma exists, the way we treat others, and, by extension, our environment, affects how we feel about ourselves and that alters the quality of the rest of our lives. Amends can modify regrets, and it’s never too late to adopt a system of preemptive empathy by finding out what could be helpful and possible in any given situation. Whether you believe in karma or not, how we feel changes our behaviour and that influences the outcome of relationships. Acting in the interest of karma is a method that has the potential to prompt us all to be more loving, compassionate, and humane, one action at a time.
US News from the Future
In future news, The Devil card indicates that there will continue to be an unhealthy tie to materialism and abuse of power, resulting in a partly feigned powerlessness from some leaders whose main objective remains to be the gathering of wealth. Ironically, it is the lack of willingness to use any power that will take materially-driven politicians out of power altogether. If they’re not actually taking any action the movement of their mouths doesn’t have meaning.
As I mentioned before, I’ve had nightmares about armed neonazis of a new kind marching through the streets of America. Most of these dreams started in 2016 and have intensified in frequency since then. I have been hesitant to discuss this in detail because I don’t want to give anyone ideas, but I think a warning is in order because it is important to be aware of dangers in order to avoid them whenever possible. I had a nightmare about a planned uprising from the far-right that will exceed the January 6th attack, which acted as practise. That riot was a test and if those in charge aren’t made accountable, it will happen in a bigger and more destructive way next time. It seems like these attacks will be coordinated, exhibit militaristic, conformist behaviour, and are motivated by an intersection of racism, misogyny, antisemitism, and homophobia. This uprising of the dark side of patriarchy won’t last forever but unfortunately will cause further harm in places where people aren’t legally protected.
The Devil, The Tower, and Hagalaz can indicate disruption to social stability, and aspects of the social order are breaking down with the assistance of legal loopholes in parts of the United States. In other areas, rebuilding and strengthening of laws are already taking place, partly as a reaction to extremist minority hegemony. The breakdown indicated by The Devil and The Tower is followed by a restoration period which is indicated when reading the reversal of these cards. Whenever a tarot card specifies an obstacle, look to the reversed interpretations for clues about how to transform the challenges of that card into a potential lesson. What is the reversal of The Devil and The Tower trying to tell us about how to transform this situation?
Q. “It seems like the US is dealing with so many issues at once. Everything’s changing so quickly and it’s hard to keep up with it. What is a central problem that could be tackled in order to fix other related issues?”
A. According to The Devil card, the central problems are greed, a perceived need for power, material obsession, and a willingness to use cruelty to achieve these ends. The primary figure in this card could represent the twin corporate cronies of capitalism and colonialism. A growing issue of corporate and governmental monopolies is another symptom of a larger problem that transcends borders and disempowers most people who are living today. It's an issue in many countries but in the US, as you know, right-wing theocracies have partly gained power through fundraising. Part of this financing is distributed to politicians through legalised bribery in the form of corporate lobbying. When Citizens United claimed that corporations could legally have the same rights as people, that made monopolies more dangerous. If a monopoly can act as a person, that entity acquires the legal potential to become dictatorial. Both major parties in the US are affected by the corporate donors they work for, which pushed the Democratic party further to the right with every election. Because they are essentially employees of the same corporations, these parties singularly irror each other and function as a corporate monopoly instead of a two-party system duopoly.
According to this card, capitalism, profit, and the delusion of infinite growth on a finite planet are central to these problems. Therefore, economic justice is a priority. That’s where the story of The Tower comes in and overthrows an old economic system that hardly works for anyone anymore, although capitalism never functioned for the majority of existing beings at any point in history. If we have economic justice, there will be more power for the people and therefore time and resources to stop the rise of fascism. The Tower card highlights the abolishment of the old ideologies preceding the beginning of a more egalitarian economic system.

Future News for You
Whether you receive The Tower or Hagalaz in a reading, something is being cleared to make way for improvements. Another interpretation of this card and rune is that a current situation is being revised or improved so that it can work better, whether that is in a relationship, friendship, career, scheduling system, or the comfort of what you consider to be your home. The Devil can indicate an attachment to materialism which means that the world at large will soon be prompted to live with the most essential material items and focus more on the emotional, spiritual, and environmental aspects of life. The Tower overturns this spotlight on a materialist worldview that has been cultivated in Western cultures for centuries. Moreover, Hagalaz indicates a symbolic “hail” that will bring about this new era and a different kind of lifestyle than we’ve ever experienced before.
While Hagalaz, The Devil, and The Tower can create discomfort, their purpose is to assist us in overthrowing an old way of life to make way for system revisions. Instead of focusing on the external forces of change, these cards encourage a reconnection with the inner concepts and subsequent outer practises of spiritual unity, shared community, and genuine universal love.
