I'm excited about March 23rd but also kind of scared of the fall out. This even relates to my workplace. We have already had a few at the top step down willingly, retire. There is certainly a shuffle. I wonder if you could pull a card in relation to a work situation.
I recently got a new boss, a woman who is around the same age as me. Capricorn, and I am Aquarius. We have had a bit of a run-in over returning to the office. She seems nice, but does like to show she has the power. I also get the sense that she wants to be friends with all the women we work with as maybe that is lacking for her. I'm not particularly interested—I would much rather keep it professional and have more boundaries between work and my personal life.
I have the option to move under another boss, a man who is older. He is much more human, and let's you get on with it.
I feel if I do move to him, I will be happier, but will also miss out on opportunities as I'm not part of her 'girl gang' she is building. I'm also not willing to go back into the office and risk getting covid. However, I am already on her blacklist. I asked her to nominate me for an industry award (she didn't so I asked her boss, and ended up winning the award.) I am keen to apply for a promotion (one level above) she discusses this with me as though she supports it, but twice has told me incorrect dates and the last time we spoke of it, she told me there is no salary increase with the title increase, even though I know there is, as a friend recently got the same promotion and got a small salary increase.
All of this has left me a bit demotivated and feeling undervalued. I know that is my choice to sit with that feeling. I wonder if you could pull a card in terms of what you see happening with this situation?
Hi Anon, Just a heads up that I have paid subscriptions on pause while I work on a paper and I'm recovering from surgery at the moment. But I feel really compelled to answer your question so this reading can count for the next month when I restart subscriptions if that's okay with you. :) This boss comes up as the Queen of Swords Reversed. She internalises and embraces the patriarchy and that will not be of benefit to you. She gathers people who work under her and plays them against each other to gain control. A Queen of Swords Reversed spells trouble. You are fortunate to have a choice to work with someone more humane. The cards say this man is the better option. No one is perfect but he will be a better fit for you. This woman needs boundaries, just as you expressed you want to have with her, and you can decline social invitations. She is part of the old Pluto in Capricorn vanguard and you are moving forward with Pluto in Aquarius, which as you know will bring a change for you, especially as an Aquarius. Your instincts are correct, and she will only get worse, but you can protect yourself now before she tries to draw you into her "sorority of horrors". Don't worry about missing out on opportunities with her. You have talent and she will undermine anyone who she sees as a threat, so she would not give you the space to shine as you deserve to anyway. She wants to be the star and you are The Star card in the Major Arcana of the tarot cards. She will attempt to hold back anyone who shines brighter. Her unsupportive actions regarding this nomination and these promotions are simply a sign of her insecurity which has nothing to do with you. It is true that she is undervaluing you but that is so she can remain the centre of attention. The Queen of Swords Reversed at her worst can be jealous and competitive, and you are not into competing so you and she will not see eye to eye on your values. You are the opposite as you want to support others. You are not there to play games; you are there to do a job, and working with the other person will give you more freedom to do what you came there to accomplish. Good luck! :)
Thank you and apologies, I did not realise. I usually try to wait to the end of the month to ask a question to make the most of it. It also lets me sit with what I'd like to ask. I very much so appreciate you asking, and no problem, I will skip the next month when you rejoin. Good luck with the paper and recovery.
I think you are very much so right about wanting to compete—which I have no interest in. She pretends she is an advocate but every instance it has been to piggyback on to some of my initiatives which are getting attention. To be honest, even just reflecting on your answer, it is exhausting and not the kind of energy I want to be bringing with me to anything I do.
No worries! :) No need to wait a whole month next time. If you can just give me some weeks after I get back I can answer your question then. I hope you can get what you are seeking this situation. Wishing you all the best!
Good luck with your paper, Kyra! My question for you is — I followed your advice and my gut from my question I asked you last month around deleting my apps and focussing on my business and then allowing success to follow. It’s so funny this last week that things feel slow (and I can always feel myself so resistant to this as I just love running forward with my goals!) is there anything I need to know or do to make February a really impactful month for my business! Thank you again! Peta xx
Thank you, Peta! I pulled the Ace of Swords Reversed which is about taking time to clear the mind. If you have a meditation practise, this card encourages you to engage in it more. If you don't, this card suggests that new thoughts will arise from meditation. This pause can prepare you or inspire you or both. You also might channel additional business ideas. The Ace of Swords Reversed can also mean boredom. If that resonates with you at all find what is challenging and direct your consciousness towards how that aspect of what you do might be expanded. According to this card, this can be a time for clearing the mind and dreaming more than doing.
A second card that came up for you is the 10 of Wands Reversed, which means you might have experienced burnout or being overworked in the past, even if the work was partly tasks of daily life, and now you are being forced to rest (this reminds me of the 4 of Swords, which is a card about regeneration). If your energy has returned and you are still feeling bored, getting outside the business itself for part of the day (which can mean literally going outdoors more or just getting into a different space) and being involved in volunteering or activism could be helpful. Service might sound contradictory to business but it is actually aligned because that feeling of being productive and contributing will attract more productivity and opportunity in other areas of your life.
Along the way, you might meet new people who are as giving and generous as you, since service often (although not always) appeals to people of a helpful or caring nature. To summarise, the answer is basically meditation and possibly also some form of service. I hope that helps. Ciao for now, xo
Oh thank you! And it’s so interesting you say the boredom bit as I actually have been feeling that which is quite rare for me. I will take all of this on! Thank you 🙏🏻
I have to tell you, I saw myself in what you wrote about Queen of Pentacles and rethinking and rearranging money issues, ( much that came with final distribution of my mom’s will, which took time to even start on, because of the pain that was still there).
What I especially appreciated was the section in the bolder print that talked about the change coming and the final, expected resistance to it. And also the interdependency and connectedness of all the world’s species. The world has given up so much for the survival of just one species.
Question of month- I recently pulled a card on Jessica’s website about what Pluto in Aquarius will bring in the first five years. I was delighted to see 6 Cups, as Ive always loved the sight of it. I had a career as a Kindergarten teacher and raised two of my own, and am delighted with my granddaughter. But what I want is a second childhood with someone from recent past. Possible? The card repeated the next day, as my card for the day. I hadn’t seen it since last June at camp.
Good luck on your paper. I’m sure you’ll knock it out of the proverbial ballpark!
You see clearly and objectively about how so much has been sacrificed for one species, and in time more will see the world this way, too. It is a great awakening. Right now, many are sleepwalking but the Earth will do what it takes to wake us up, collectively. Other species will be perceived and treated differently in future times. Concepts of ownership, boundaries, and agency between humans and other species will become a hot topic in future news as soon as this year and well beyond it. The field of bioethics will embrace not only human concerns but also the rights of other animals.
As for your card, the 6 of Cups can be about a reunion and happy memories. As a Kindergarten teacher this card can represent you as a mentor to a younger generation whose actions even today are influenced by your guidance, which is really lovely and such an important and meaningful accomplishment. You also get The Hanged Man for this question. Being a major card and upright, the answer can be affirmative, yet the meaning of this card includes a waiting period. The figure is suspended in thought and looking upwards, indicating a meditative state.
In relationships and friendships, this card says it cannot be rushed. The other person may be unable to move forward with connecting as much or as soon as you would like, but that is forcing you to bring in a second person for the same kind of second childhood, playfulness, and enjoyment that you seek. When the first comes around, your expectations will have shifted and this makes everything flow.
There may be other reasons for the delay, but know that when you get this card the "pause" that you are experiencing will give everything time to come to fruition and fall into place in the most fulfilling way possible. The Hanged Man imbues a Querent with relaxation and faith that brings about a new perspective. The reframed point of view you acquire during this "waiting period" will bring about deeper and more expansive results than would have been possible if it all happened sooner. If you stay open to more than one connection like the one you envision with someone from the recent past, your life will get bigger and even more exciting experiences await.
Thanks for your good wishes, Wildflower! Your encouragement is very sweet. Wishing you all the best with every joy that these two cards will bring you!
Another thought I had is that this person will be in your life, but if there wasn't a delay you would not be connecting as closely with this additional friend. By the time the first one is able to connect more, you will have two instead of one who play this role in your life. The joy for all of you will be multiplied. The saying that comes to mind with this is: "The more, the merrier!" :)
