I used to have tarot cards when I was a teenager along with several books which I had read seriously, but have since forgotten. What type do you suggest is used and what references are most helpful? Also Off topic, but I wanted to share a suggestion to this blog to a friend but I'm not sure how to do that. Is there a link I can send her? thanks, -D

There are many good decks and as I'm sure you've noticed through years of exploring, a lot of choices. I like going back to the traditional 78-card deck, especially the original Smith-Waite Tarot Deck. There are many variations of this version. I don't think you can go wrong if you find something that resonates with you visually. In terms of interpretation or references, I don't think there is any one place where I have learned everything. Instead, I read as many references as possible and pick the best of what I can gather. I will be writing more about some suggested references for learning about tarot meanings in a future post. Some are online and others are in print. Meanwhile, thanks for recommending this blog to a friend.
