Dear Reader,
So much has happened since I last wrote to you a few weeks ago. I wasn’t planning to post again for a while as I am still healing and focussing on improving my health. However, in light of recent significant events, I’m publishing this short post with tarot updates for the US elections.
Thanks for subscribing and reading,

Assassination Attempts and Resignation Events
The trend of portraying candidates as unequivocally positive or negative in news articles and social media cannot hold forever. It might not look like nuance is on the way, and simplistic descriptions of candidates will probably increase and become cartoonishly exaggerated during the current election cycle, but change is inevitable. Perhaps the binary portrayal of candidates as opposing characters in a melodrama was inevitable in a two-party system. Election cycles become tribal and each side cheers for their sports team. The political party of choice becomes like an accepting family. For some, these families will be disowned as more people feel disenfranchised from the previous values of their parties. That disenfranchisement will become more evident through an increase in third-party votes like never before, in addition to voters switching from one party to another before the November elections. For reasons I will briefly elaborate on later, loyalties will shift for more voters than usual in the next few months.
These predictions are specific to the elections, but something broader is shifting in the national consciousness and that transformation is mirrored to some extent in international events.
As for the US, the effects of these tragic and near-tragic events today and last weekend have highlighted at least a few issues, including access to healthcare, prosperity, and arms. Whatever you may think of Trump politically or personally, no one deserves to be in grave danger and there will be questions and theories for years to come about how such an egregious security failure could have been allowed to transpire. I am not the only one to notice how the tragic death of a rally attendee, injuries to others in the audience, and a near-fatal assassination attempt have brought up issues about access to weapons. This doesn’t directly change the conversation about gun laws but will inevitably indirectly influence future decisions—at first, for people in positions of power, and later, for the general public.
This incident was horrific enough, yet was nearly catastrophic. True to his character as a showman in sync with the crowd and with an entertainer’s sense of timing, Trump made the most of the moment. However, he is hardly out of danger and we should all hope that every candidate will be protected. This is a fragile time for democracies, and not only in the US. We have seen how the Islamic Republic and its proxies and WWIII-style ‘Axis Powers’ are intent on destabilising Western civilisation. Political instability creates a vacuum of power that makes nations vulnerable to attack. This election cycle is becoming increasingly unstable and there are still more than a few months to go.
Another shift in consciousness is related to conversations about health. Biden’s withdrawal from the race due to health issues makes the conversation about disability and healthcare access more likely. Trump’s vulnerability to a near-serious injury also highlights the importance of health. It will become less taboo to talk about aging and healthcare. I won’t get into the tragedy of what Biden has been through. Many others are already writing eloquently about that.
One of the shifts that happened this week is that two of the most powerful men in the world have elicited our sympathy in unexpected ways. Whether we agree with their perspectives and political choices or not, this week’s events have broadly emphasised the humanity and vulnerability of public figures.
I mentioned a few issues that current events are bringing to the forefront of the news, and so far touched on only gun regulations and healthcare issues.
That’s because the conversation about the economy is coming next.
Health and Wealth*
The Democratic Party will partially rely on a stable economy to make the case for a win in this election, even though identity politics will be the primary focus. They will point to examples of prosperity over the last four years. Nothing is certain with this election cycle and economic instability will jeopardise their platform. The Democrats are already at a disadvantage. Maintaining economic stability will be essential for strengthening their platform, but this will not be in their control.
Q. What is the next issue that will affect the US Presidential Elections?
A. The Chariot R points to an economic downturn (reversal) related to oil production (think of The Chariot as a car in reverse). Will there be a shortage, a rise in oil prices—or one followed by the other? Whatever happens, a misfortune would be blamed on the incumbent party—and Harris will be ‘thrown under the bus’.
This card also conveys that economy will become the keystone of the Republican platform. As an aspect of the economy becomes less certain, the Democratic Party sticks to identity and promises of a utopian future. An area where Democrtas will have an advantage is in their plans for climate and environmental health, which can be pointed to in recent years and will be neglected in the Republican platform.
As usual, the Democratic Party promises an ‘ideal’ future, and the Republicans promise a return to an ‘ideal’ past. Neither of these visions have or will exist in reality in the flawless ways they are portrayed. As always, these stories are part truth and part fiction, much of which we can discern for ourselves.
Security and Economy
The Republican Party will be running on a platform of security and economy, with a vision of returning to a time of safety and prosperity.
Q. What will the Republican Party focus on before November besides the economy?
A. In the context of this question, the World Reversed can allude to a world at war. The Republican Party will continue to compare global conflict four years ago to what is unfolding today and claim these events never would have happened under their watch. The thing about those claims is there is no way to go back in time and know what would have been. This is an advantage of not being the incumbent!
I had a nightmare the other night about melting faces and teeth falling out. I don’t use dream dictionaries as a reference for interpretation. I would normally have attributed this to an anticipation of the dental work I had on Friday but this dream had several similar attributes to previous predictive dreams. I don’t say this lightly but the perilous times we find ourselves in have increased the likelihood of a nuclear attack. The probability of the IRI attacking Israel as a warning to the US (which it considers to be its ultimate enemy) is unfortunately an imminent danger. This is more logical than psychic: the Islamic Republic is attacking Israel on seven fronts, recently developed nuclear capabilities, and is allied with Russia. We can only hope that any attempt would be prevented or thwarted, as the threat of an attack on this level would destabilise the MENA and also put the people of Iran and surrounding countries in danger.
But back to the party platforms! Further disruptions from the Islamic Republic will give the Republican Party more material with which to blame the current administration for allegedly financially ‘emboldening’ the leaders of the IRI and their proxies. Whether you believe this to be an accurate assessment or not, it is the platform that will benefit the Republican party expect it to be a key strategy.
Crash and Burn
After surviving an assassination attempt and Biden’s withdrawal from the race, Trump and the Republican party would have a triple move in their favour if there is a crash, no matter how brief. This isn’t something he can control so it is not a conspiracy theory; it would simply be the result of unstable times, with more to come.* The cards predicted in 2022 that “…the winner will be the one who promises the most change—for better or for worse”. A promise of security (related to not only a promise of peace but also of protecting borders) in addition to what Trump and others in his sphere may refer to as ‘unprecedented prosperity for this country’ will make for a strong case. The Democrats can’t get too comfortable, no matter how attractive they think this upcoming ticket will be. The Democratic ticket will have advantages and disadvantages, and there are no guarantees. Especially in these times.
