Thank you for not giving up on the Climate Emergency, Kyra. Despite everything.

Kyra

Thank you for your enlightening and moving words. I’m sorry that this has happened. One would think that an organization that cares about the health and wellbeing of the world’s natural resources and environment would also care about the future of all its inhabitants, not some, but all of them.

I have been hoping this generation coming up would be the ones who get us out of the cycle of wars and conflict that I’ve lived through all my life. Perhaps they haven’t gotten to college yet. Those who threatened and sent those students into sheltering in a library are a huge disappointment.

I live in Maine and we are living through our first and hopefully only mass shooting we will ever have to endure. Is there any indication of hope for the worlds people to finally get along better? Will the rage and condemnation that seems to still exist between ethnicities ever subside for good?

My little granddaughter is one quarter Italian/American, one quarter African/American, one quarter comprised of French Canadian and Irish/American, and the last quarter Native American of the Apache Nation, and Polish Jewish/American. I love every bit of it.

Pretty soon she will be starting preschool and will be participating in lockdown drills.

Are better times coming?

Sorry for the length. I’m normally not this wordy.
