Prediction Confirmed: March for Our Lives Reprise
12 June 2018 (Self-Hypnosis)
On June 12th, 2018, News from the Future predicted a repeat protest against U.S. mass shootings in the form of a “nationwide…Peace March” in which Americans would be “putting down guns and walking away as a symbolic act”. A summer rally and protest with “some student speakers from the March for Our Lives protest” would bring back the original “March for Our Lives” and culminate in a “Great American Peace Movement that I wrote about back in 2016”.
What the Self-Hypnosis Got Right: A reprisal of the March for Our Lives rally is scheduled in cities across the United States this summer. This time, incontrast with the first march in 2018, there are more gun owners asking where they can turn in their assault rifles. For instance, popular weapon buyback programs have been emerging this month, using incentives such as gift cards and gas funds. Some of those asking how to get rid of these weapons are widows, children, and families who have been left with gun collections that they do not want, and others are gun owners. Something is changing. Is this the “Great American Peace Movement” that came up in 2016 predictions?
What the Self-Hypnosis Missed: The timing of this prediction was off by four years. I find that without cards, astrology, or other tools, the details can be more specific but the timing is not as often accurate. That is why I have been using cards more often in addition to self-hypnosis. Cards can be like a second opinion or confirmation of hypnotically-induced revelations, and self-hypnosis can provide details beyond what is initially visible in the cards. In a way, hypnosis can act as an extension of the cards, adding to the images with additional, unconsciously derived sensorial information.
Prediction Confirmed: Anti-Violence Activism; “This Time is Different”
25 May 2022 (The Star Tarot Card)
“…this time will be different?”…yes, this time the response is different”.
What the Cards Got Right:
On May 26th and 27th, 2022, Parkland school shooting survivors, including survivor and activist David Hogg, began Tweeting that “this time is different”. If you look at his timeline on Twitter and that of other school shooting survivors and activists, this predicted phrase has become a repeated mantra or chant since May 26th. You can confirm the timing of the prediction by choosing “advanced search” on Twitter and looking for dates from May 24th (the day that the tragic Robb Elementary School shooting occurred) through May 26th, 27th, and beyond, which is how I validated the prediction. You can also review the original prediction made on 25 May 2022 under the title of “News from the Future: June 2022 Predictions”.
So is this time different? Considering that this prediction was made before the activist phrase “this time is different” was coined, and then repeated on social media, day after day since the 26th of May, the confirmation of this prediction makes it all the more likely that this time is different. Precognitive validations confirm that what we believe or hope is happening is all the more likely to occur, which is one of the reasons that publishing predictions can be useful.
Whether the prediction is a warning or, as in this case, a sign of change, predictions have a function and that is why psychics continue to offer dreams and visions, consult with the cards for confirmation, and share what we sense about the future. Of course, actions still need to be taken and predictions should not detract from the need for activism and social change. Action is a necessary component of hope. If anything, knowing the direction of future activism might help us to see where, when, and how we will most likely be successful in working collaboratively to achieve increased justice.
Anticipating Activism in Action
The road ahead will require multiple changes, one of these being campaign contribution limitations. As long as the NRA is allowed to finance campaigns, this post-Civil War organisation, founded in 1871, will find and fund the most corruptible individuals who will pledge to continue bolstering their profits by voting against gun reform in exchange for bribes. If someone isn’t willing to be corrupted, they won’t be funded and others will be found. The 2010 Citizens United decision will need to be overturned before we see any real changes on this issue, and that is going to be challenging when considering the current conservative majority in the Supreme Court. Until Citizens United is overturned, corporations will continue to be placed above the lives of people, at least on a legal level.
Meanwhile, the most vulnerable in society will continue to pay the price by being sacrificed against their will. Imagine being tiny and new to the world, pushed onto the front lines of a war, day after day, devoid of weaponry, and lacking in any military training. That’s what children across the United States are being forced to do every time they step into a public school. There also isn’t protection for K-12 teachers, most of whom are female. Mass shooters are mostly male so there is a contributing factor of misogyny to this problem, but if there wasn’t access to weaponry many more women and children would be alive and others would be living without irrevocable injuries today. This is also an issue of civil rights injustice and racial bias because BIPOC individuals have been and continue to be disproportionately targeted in violent incidents across the U.S. Will more legislators wake up when guns start affecting everyone, including their own loved ones? Would they continue to place profit above the lives of their own families?
Lawmakers beholden to the NRA are unlikely to voluntarily change, especially as they were chosen and subsequently financed based on the primary qualification of having a proclivity and history of accepting and engaging in corruption. Therefore, a shift away from violence is going to require the actions of more citizens. Work, school, and shopping strikes culminating in ongoing, large-scale protests will be imperative. In one way, this critical mass shooting issue will require the same kind of effort as fighting against the fossil fuel corruption of politicians who are willing to cosign on Anthropocene extinction. Voting harder won’t change the fact that legislators are allowed to be bribed, whether their future votes are purchased by gunmakers or fossil fuel lobbyists. Also, these issues are too critical for us to depend on the slow processes of legislation alone. Decades of inaction and a worsening of both gun violence and the climate crisis are evidence enough that voting alone is inadequate. Change must be demanded en masse to prevent not only the mass murder of our population but also the mass extinction of all people. Real reconstruction sometimes requires revolution.
The 6 of Cups tarot card that I drew this week points to the solidarity of communities and returning to a previously successful or alternative system for proven answers about how to solve serious problems. There were times with fewer mass shootings in the U.S. and there are other countries that don’t experience the frequency of these events. This card suggests looking at other legislative methodologies, both temporally and geographically, for clues about future system revisions. This post was completed and scheduled to be published today, then another mass shooting occurred yesterday on South Street in Philadelphia, so I am revising this article again. I probably spent more time on that street than any other during my childhood because my dad worked there for years as an accountant for a clothing shop. This street is a popular destination for bohemian fashion and tourism, much like Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. U.S. places that used to be more secure are becoming increasingly risky with the passage of time and the purchase of more weaponry.
If no one is immune here and no place is truly safe, how long can U.S. lawmakers continue to be unaffected by mass violence? The Saturday night shooting is yet another sign that these incidents will continue to escalate until large-scale action is taken. Voting is something, but it’s not enough. Many of us have been voting for decades and the problem has only worsened, so this is going to take more than votes alone. The U.S. is not a democracy, it’s a constitutional republic that, according to a 2015 Rolling Stone interview with President Jimmy Carter, is becoming more of a corporate oligarchy all the time. As a “republic”, representatives should be representing the interests of the majority of the populace, but as we know, that is not the case. Taking power back from corporate interests is a massive undertaking but one that should be exercised while some free speech, limited though it may be, is still in place.
I don’t have all the answers about how this is going to happen, but I will continue to consult the cards for clues and share whatever I find with you. One of the ways that changes have been made in the past is through mass protest and peaceful strikes. If you are in the U.S., please click here to find a June 2022 March for Our Lives rally in your city, or follow March for Our Lives on Twitter for more details on how to get involved.
This Week in Tarot: 6-12 June 2022
In this week’s News from the Future, the 6 of Cups indicates a nostalgic time where personal background brings back positive connections from the past, whether through a hobby, love of history, old friendship, or information that helps to solve a mystery from the past. This card rules memories, revivals, and even historical reenactions, so expect some repeats of previous events this week. Most of these occurrences will be positive, as the 6 of Cups in its upright position has a tendency to elicit pleasant and comforting memories. New ways of documenting history as shown from multiple viewpoints and cultures will start to become popular in near future news.
This card is associated with water signs, particularly Cancer, and all the qualities associated with that sign, including nostalgia, family, sentimentality, genealogical or historical research, reminiscing about happy memories on your own or with old friends, healing the past, and seeking or finding emotional security in the home.
In future world news, expect to see nations forging agreements that are borne of war but built on historical alliances. These allies might not know it yet but their solidarity is forming a new system of international cooperation which will be urgently needed for fighting the climate crisis. Additionally, anticipate that seeds will be planted for housing protests, particularly in the U.S., which will bloom more by the fall due to climate crisis issues that draw attention to the increased vulnerability of populations who are more frequently and severely exposed to natural disasters.
Spiritually and ultimately, this is a card about searching for or rediscovering ancestry. In connection with this theme of the 6 of Cups, I will be publishing a “Celtic Ancestor Meditation” for premium members this week so that you can meet one (or more) of your ancestors while exploring an altered state of consciousness.
Tarot Card of the Week: 6 of Cups
In this card’s image, a little boy offers a cup of flowers to a little girl—or are they adults upon second glance? The face of the female figure looks mature. Perhaps they are older but knew one another from the time that they were young, which would explain how they look both older and younger to the viewer and maybe continue to appear younger to each other. There are five other cups filled with flowers, denoting that this is a continuous kindness and not a one-time generous deed. These friends have known one another for some time. Perhaps they lived in this village that surrounds them.
As the friends make exchanges and perhaps reminisce in what appears to be a peaceful courtyard, there is a guard who passes by on the way to a building. The presence of this guard and close proximity of buildings to the figures in this image combine to offer signs of safety, familiarity, security, and comfort. On an emotional level, this card speaks to the importance of having people in our lives who either have a shared history or know us well. Keep in mind that a “shared history” includes previous lifetimes with individual kindred spirits or soul groups.

World News from the Future
In world news, the 6 of Cups can denote expressions of friendship and promises of continued alliances amongst nations that have traditionally or at least previously acted as allies. In future times when we become nostalgic for today, one perception that will have shifted is our attitude toward and expectations of work. I have mentioned this in previous predictions but it will be a major change as compared to the attitude toward class, titles, hereditary land ownership, and work roles that we today and which have existed for thousands of years.
Future humans will look back on these times and wonder how we could have been socialised with and categorised largely by the work we did, which consists of perhaps one or two jobs or functions that keep us alive. How can the action, the motion, of one task repeated over and over again to keep a person from dying define how others in society perceive and treat us? Those roles aren’t who we are, it’s what we do to “earn” our right to continue living. But we didn’t pay to be born so why should we pay to continue to exist? If you’re in the U.S., your parent or parents might have paid for you to be born but that’s what can happen with extreme capitalism: you have to pay more and work harder just to stay alive. And capitalism only exists with caste systems.
On the subject of capitalism, the for-profit media of today will also be scrutinised in future times. Reporting that relies on profit is biased because the point of view offered will be the one that generates the most revenue. Additionally, large corporate owners of newspapers and other outlets have a financial incentive to limit publications with political perspectives that might undermine their personal profit. The implications of these distorted, misleading practises will be studied in future academic journals. Some of the conclusions in these publications will include a perspective that present-day media is making monumental mistakes that are considerably contributing to the climate crisis. The growth of corporate monopolies is one reason that small, not-for-profit media organisations will become increasingly necessary for providing unbiased reporting.
The 6 of Cups is a card about searching for and/or finding the past, whether by unlocking historical mysteries or learning of ancestral heritage. In future world news, it will be apparent that citizenship is becoming more valuable than many material items. Yes, money can help with the acquisition of citizenship, especially at a certain financial level, but there is also an indication of tightened restrictions that will make moving more challenging for nearly everyone. There will be no place that is immune to climate and temperature changes, but some areas will be more stable than others, which is not a psychic prediction as much as it is an already established scientific reality. Of course, this migratory discrimination becomes increasingly problematic as environmental and farming landscapes drastically metamorphose in ways that will be beyond our control. Therefore, the need to relocate will create a situation of desperation. However, the 6 of Cups does offer solutions: take action in groups, stay connected to positive people from the past who have proven to be trustworthy, extend the “cup of flowers” by sharing with others as in this image, and live communally again like the figures in this card.
A challenge of the 6 of Cups is to not get so stuck in the past that necessary change is avoided, suppressed, or delayed out of fear. While that is more a message of the 6 of Cups Reversed, it is helpful to look at the lessons in a card, especially when a planet is in Retrograde and Saturn is currently Retrograding in Aquarius (more on this below, under “Tarot-Astro News from the Future”). We are on the precipice of an unavoidable agricultural revolution. Food systems and methods of agricultural distribution and sharing are changing, whether we want them to or not. This transformation will happen even without our prompting and our part will be accepting and adapting to the lands and foods so they can sustain our survival.
Visions for World News according to the 6 of Cups: News stories about friendships and even relationships between and amongst nations and leaders.
Themes in this week’s World News according to the 6 of Cups: International cooperation, a return to past alliances, initiation of a new diplomatic tactic (this could refer to the continued attack on Ukraine), and peacemaking processes. Climate problems with banana crops, possibly in South America.
U.S. News from the Future
The 6 of Cups in U.S. News indicates a convergence of multiple movements into one. One alliance will be that of women and immigrants in a demand for equality and justice. Women of colour, particularly Indigneous women, will lead these protests and this leadership will have the power to strengthen a call for human rights justice like never before. Several prominent Black female activists in the U.S. will emerge from this movement as popular leaders whose legacy will last for decades to come.
Because the U.S. has its Sun in Cancer, the founding of what we call the “United States” is in itself nostalgic and prone to perceiving itself through the lens of national and local history. The cult of individualism, so deeply embedded in American culture, will become intensified before it breaks into two strategies: hyper-individualism even more extreme than what we see today, and reactionary communities that form self-sufficient communes while attempting to construct their own laws and ways of life that are separet from even local governments. These nostalgic communities will be built on a combination of libertarianism and Transcendentalist theory, such as poet and theorist Henry David Thoreau’s belief in the inherent goodness of humans.
These mini-societies will mostly take place in natural settings but some will exist in urban spaces. Each community will attempt to form its own system separate from even local governments. No, this doesn’t all happen this week, but look for seeds of this communal self-sufficiency trend in near-future news. And no, the U.S. military-industrial complex will not initially accept these communities but the more communes that form, the greater power they will collectively gain over time. The challenge will be creating solidarity amongst communities that attempt to live off-the-grid, as there will be multiple disparate factions of Neo-Transcendentalists.
In near-future years, including this one, working and schooling from home will become increasingly popular, partly due to experiences with Covid but also because of a lack of air conditioning in what used to be cooler cities. At the same time, energy shortages will become a problem which means more heat-related illnesses. There will be some buildings claiming to solve the problem by a “free cooling” method but don’t be fooled; this just means opening windows and that won’t make a difference when it’s hot air that’s blowing through the building. There will be more news stories about finding solutions for heat-related dilemmas, particularly related to trains and transportation in India, and in U.S. commercial buildings and schools that are coping with intermittent outages, when the Sun moves into Cancer and into the fall. These smaller signs of disruption to civilisation can act as a precursor to collapse but are also giving us the benefit of warnings so that solutions can be implemented prior to the intensification of climate problems.
Visions for U.S. News according to the 6 of Cups: Stories about children’s rights. News reports regarding groups of children working together in coordinated protests and school walkouts which will culminate in the fall. Worker walkouts. August will also show signs of this trend toward attempting to end houselessness, and the initiating event for this protest will be some sort of fire, possibly caused by the climate crisis, that engulfs a region where very few have access to cars. For those who choose not to drive as a form of protest against the climate crisis, there is an increased difficulty in escaping from climate disasters such as floods and wildfires. This is an example of extreme poverty injustice for those who have already been suffering and will only have that inequity compounded by approaching climate and environmental changes. If anything, those who are trying to do the right things for the planet should at least have the same level of protection as those who need to drive, not less.
I see people in the future who move into abandoned homes and buildings en masse and refuse to leave as a form of protest against rising and increasingly unaffordable rental rates. Lawsuits and countersuits will be initiated by landlords, management companies, and real estate corporations. Expect a news spotlight on housing rights and protests that demand Housing for All as a birthright, especially in the fall and particularly by September.
Themes in this week’s U.S. News according to the 6 of Cups: Pregnancy, alliances amongst groups of mothers and mother-to-be, making new play centres for children, proposals of expansion of educational programmes and at-home daycare centres for children. As a form of protest against gun violence, I see parents setting up home schooling for multiple children in one space, whether by Zoom or by inviting children into their homes. These alternative educational spaces will be like home schooling except 1) this will be done in groups, and coordinated by groups of local parents in the U.S., and 2) the location will switch from house to house so that parents who need to work can while other parents take over as substitute teachers. Is it legal? I have no idea, I just see it happening. This trend of collective home schooling will mostly occur in suburban areas at first, where there is a little more wealth in the community but not so much that private schools would be affordable.
Tarot-Astro News from the Future
Saturn turned Retrograde in Aquarius on June 4th (give or take a few days for the pre-shadow period). Since Saturn dispenses life lessons and Aquarius is associated with communities and groups, a Saturn retrograde in Aquarius can mean karma for large groups, especially nations that are ruled by Capricorn or Aquarius. This karma can also manifest on a soul group level, for instance if there are people in your soul family who have frequent or dominant Capricorn, Aquarius, or 10th and 11th house placements in their natal chart.
Generally, this Retrograde can mean a stalling of progress around community gatherings, marches, and protests. In some cases, such as in the U.S., expect police and even military backlash against these marches and demands for change. However, the pause allows for a restructuring of plans and innovative strategies, which are a trait of Aquarian ideals, and has the potential to result in more effective future changes related to gun violence. These societal changes will resume around the time when Saturn goes direct again.
In the fall, expect mass walkouts from schools around the U.S. in protest of mass shootings and gun violence. Feminist groups will overlap with and be in support of these protests for a number of reasons, including the ways in which domestic violence and school shootings disproportionately harm women.
When Saturn is in Retrograde, group plans can change, protests may get rescheduled, and it can take extra effort to coordinate gatherings and celebrations. Expect some rescheduling but as with many delays, there can be a higher purpose in moving plans to a later date.
Venus entered Taurus on May 28th. Natural beauty, farming that’s simultaneously beautifying (aka farms that also funciton as or are adjacent to gardens) and enjoyment of natural foods, cooking, and baking will be trending during this time.
Mercury turned Direct in Taurus on June 3rd. Venus conjunct Mercury in Taurus highlights road trips, joyful communication, and taking time to connect with new relationships or foster and build on already established connections.
Future News for You
The 6 of Cups can signify a heightened interest in reconnecting with the past as a way to connect with or reawaken comforting feelings. For instance, this card could indicate a time when curiosity about genealogy might be reawakened. It is a card of not only ancestral heritage but also a connection to the land where you were born and positive people from early in your life, whether those relationships continue to exist in the third dimension or in the unending realm of the spirit world. It is partly from the past that we can rediscover positive feelings and bring them into the present, which is one of the gifts of water signs and the 6 of Cups. This card is associated with some of the traits of Cancer (family, home) and Scorpio (deep connections). In terms of overlap between the 6 of Cups and Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius, this will be a period when some old associations, particularly acquaintances, may fade away as you open to new connections. Perhaps space is being made for time with someone new. The degree to which you experience this possible shift in acquaintanceship will depend on the presence (or absence) and position of Aquarius in your natal chart.
Ultimately, this is a card of comfort, kindness, nostalgia, personal history, and the warmth of potentially reconnecting with or staying connected to old friends and associations. It is also a reminder that thinking in a less complicated way about anything that troubles you is almost always an option. When I take an issue a day at a time it suddenly it becomes easier to put first things first and make progress on finding solutions to problems. Historical knowledge is a catalyst for the gift of perspective. An ability to immerse oneself in the experience of the present by keeping life as simple as possible is another gift of the 6 of Cups. It is through simplicity that enhanced clarity becomes reality. If you have a Sun or Rising water sign or significant water sign placements throughout your natal chart, you may especially benefit from happy memories of beloved friends, cherished communities, and meaningful places throughout this week.
