The tarot card I pulled for this week is the 9 of Cups. This card is a sign of joy, satisfaction, and connecting to feelings of material or emotional abundance. The 9 of Cups partly tells the story of someone whose wishes have been granted, perhaps after walking away from something that was no longer working or that may have disappointed them, which is an aspect of the 8 of Cups.
Each card is like an illustration from a picture book and an entire deck can tell a saga. An individual card can also be read like a chapter from your life because one static image can document a series of events and every picture hides and then reveals a slightly different meaning. The particular interpretation of each card also depends on specific past, present, and future circumstances of the Querent (person asking a question of the cards). To some extent, you can “choose your own adventure” by meditating on each card. In another way, some of the cards of life will be chosen for you. However, the cards and events that come your way but weren’t on your “to do” list can often lead you onto a path that is better than what you would have originally imagined for yourself.
This week, the chapter or card is about embracing joy and feeling pleased with what you have right now. the 9 of cups asks you to acknowledge how far you’ve come from where you were during different stages of the past and even from as far back as when you began your earthly journey. If you have been through a lot, the 9 of Cups assures you that rewards are on the way that will make it all worthwhile.
Tarot Card of the Week: 9 of Cups
A man with crossed arms in costly Renaissance clothing is seated in front of a cloth-covered area upon which nine golden chalices rest above his head. His arms are crossed in a seeming state of satisfaction for his present circumstances. He appears to be in a state of acceptance for what he has and where he is at in his life. He appears to be indoors as there are no signifiers of nature in the imagery, which can mean that the space he occupies is either his own domain or another place where he has authority or privileges. The cups above him signify achievement, contentedness, and emotional, spiritual, or relationship-oriented rewards.

U.S. and World News from the Future: Psychic Channeling of Visions, as Inspired by the Cards
Excerpt from World News from the Future: “There will always be those who try to take an unequal share of power, but this notion of kings and queens, Presidents and Vice Presidents, is not going to be as accepted in the future, and certainly not by the majority of people. Hierarchy is out, collective cooperation is in. The climate emergency will expedite an overthrowing of absolute rule. Authoritarian leaders like Putin, Bolsonaro, Duterte, Kim Jong-un, and Trump’s near-future attempt to return to power are all meant to warn us of the dangers of authoritarianism. Twentieth and twenty-first century extreme experiences with dictatorships and autocratic rule will serve us well when it is necessary to relinquish corporate-driven totalitarianism in order to save our lives from encroaching climate and environmental instability. When near-future climate crisis conditions simultaneously increase in both magnitude and velocity, we will be more than ready to work collectively rather than continuing to trust in a failed hierarchical system that has become outdated, dangerous, and a direct threat to the continued existence of most Earthly species”.
