News from the Future: July 2022 & August-December Predictions
8 of Swords Reversed and Viking Rune Inguz
The painfully sad news of the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling being overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court this Friday, June 24th was anticipated by the 10 of Cups Reversed on October 31st, 2020. The reason I am reposting this prediction now is that it might offer more insight into what to expect in the future, especially because this came up in a tarot card reading years before Friday’s news:
Creeping totalitarianism can feel like a nightmare and has been described as such by political theorist and Holocaust survivor Hannah Arendt (1906-1975), author of The Origins of Totalitarianism (originally published in 1951). In this seminal book, she refers to her experience of having lived in a concentration camp and the secrets that have to be kept in order to survive under totalitarian regimes, which can make this unspoken reality feel more like an internal nightmare:
“The totalitarian organizations which, during their rise to power, imitate organizational features of secret societies and yet establish themselves in broad daylight. The secret society of totalitarian regimes is the secret police…the never-communicated information loses its quality of reality and assumes the nature of a mere nightmare” (Arendt 435). Therefore, it is important to talk about what is happening now, especially while there is still freedom of speech. In a full-on fascist regime, freedom of expression would not be present so it must be exercised before it is taken away, in order to preserve it. Book banning has been one attempt to suppress freedom of speech, and that is just the beginning. Watch for rulings that hurt the poor most. Hitler rose to power as chancellor of Germany in 1933 because of an economic downturn following a depression*. It is imperative to be skeptical of demagogues who seek power, particularly during a time of economic, environmental, or other instability and uncertainty. Another racist and fascist leader will do the same in America and elsewhere, especially as the climate crisis heightens in scope. It is in the interest of present fascists to keep people economically helpless because that is the only way they can rise to power. One way to do that is to keep or reenter as many people as possible into the prison system, and the U.S. has the highest incarceration rate in the world. Another is to take away the freedom of people who already suffer economically. Women are already behind economically and still do not have equal pay in most nations. Forced birth in a country that does not provide healthcare or maternity leave and that lacks social support will unquestionably engender an economic burden.
Arendt also describes the “terror” of tyranny in her chapter heading, “Ideology and Terror: A Novel Form of Government”. I recommend reading or rereading The Origins of Totalitarianism as it is about to become a lot more popular and relevant. I don’t know about you, but these recent rulings feel nightmarish to me which echoes Arendt’s description of totalitarian rule. Of course, those are just my feelings, and feelings aren’t facts. But I have been posting about actual nightmares I’ve been having for years about women losing their rights in the United States so I can’t say I’m surprised, and I was far from alone in having these concerns. Everyone is affected by this ruling, and not just in the U.S. What happens in one country can set a precedent and make it acceptable in another. Every man has a woman in their life, even if she is a friend or family member or was one of your teachers or ancestors whose educational lessons or genetic abilities continue to shape who you are today. We all live together in this world, and when one person suffers, we all suffer. Our connection goes beyond gender and nationality. Similarly, if everyone prospers, we all prosper by proximity. As it stands now, rapists with guns as their accomplices have more rights than the women and girls who make up half of this country. Violence in one form always leads to another, so a ruling that begins by not protecting some will end up not protecting anyone.
While it isn’t popular to use the Handmaid’s Tale analogy right now, people dressed in these costumes in America (particularly in the South and Midwest) appeared in recurring, realistic dreams I was having years ago. These references are showing up now on the news and on social media. Predictive dreams don’t always focus on what will be the most or least popular perspective on any given subject. Sometimes they are just glimpses into one aspect of an event or a topic that will be explored and perhaps debated in future times. If you have had predictive dreams, you know what I am talking about. For prognostic literature about U.S. politics, I would recommend checking out author Octavia Butler’s prescient 1993 science fiction novel Parable of the Sower, if you haven’t already. The post below from 2020 recounts some details of one of the nightmares I had about a future loss of women’s rights due to an intersection of religious extremism and fascist politics:
Another post from January 19th, 2017 warned of an “abortion registration database” in the U.S.:

News from the Future World News Preview
In last week’s “This Week in Tarot” article, readers Ana and Richard asked about the future of the war in Ukraine. This morning as I edit this on Wednesday, June 22nd, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is addressing fellow students at universities across Canada for a Q&A hosted by the Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Toronto. He answered questions from more than one student about how he sees the future of the war, and since this post is about future news I transcribed some of these questions and answers below as an extension of predictions about the war in Ukraine. The recording of this Q&A is in the video below.
To being with, a student named Anya Brightman from the University of Toronto mentioned that Zelenskyy has been compared to Winston Churchill and Harry Potter and asked what literary role models he looks up to for strength and inspiration:”…over the past five months, you have been compared to so many cultural icons, ranging from Sir Winston Churchill to Harry Potter, and I wanted to ask you who your own historical or literary role models are who you look up to for your strength and inspiration”. Zelenskyy responded, "...Harry Potter is better than Voldemort, we know how Voldemort is in Harry Potter so we know how the war will end". He continued with an answer to Anya’s question, which was that he finds strength and inspiration in the people of Ukraine.
Another student, Faith Mogadami (sp?) from the University of Calgary, asked: “… as a well-known comedian, how has humour, (coming?) through the internet, affected how we all experience the war?” Zelenskyy responded:
"In terms of humour, it's not really humourous times, and you don't feel like joking, but humour is a kind of medicine which always helps because you cannot be in with your thoughts the war 24/7. Sometimes you have to make a break for a couple of minutes in order to analyse and take stock, to be an adequate person. Read something humourous. There are memes in the internet, there are good memes about different leaders, different political leaders and I think is great. It's a good criticism, it's a good satire that allows people to relax a little bit and that really helps. I know it helps not only me, I know our soldiers in the trenches also need this breath of fresh air in between the shellings. You can't protect the lives of people by losing the sense of life. So there was a very interesting remark about Harry Potter, also humourous, so thank you for that as well".
Zelenskyy’s answers to these questions are a reminder of the personal and universal importance of comedy, literature, fine arts, and the humanities in fostering motivation and maintaining sensitivity and necessary humanity in a time of conflict, whether that is war or the climate crisis. Humour plays an irreplaceable role in keeping our spirits up. Spirituality has a connection to every part of the humanities, from art to music to literature to comedy and performance, and the role of spirituality in the arts will continue to be explored in future articles.
Tarot Card of the Month: 8 of Swords Reversed
The 8 of Swords features a female figure who is surrounded by swords and bound not only in body but also in vision. She stands upon the earth yet there are also puddles beneath and around her feet. A castle can be seen in the distant background. Her arms are bound and she is blindfolded, indicating that there is a lack of agency and vision because of the ways in which she has been bound, and not based on her own actions or choices. By being blindfolded, what she does have remaining is her connection to intuition, inner wisdom, dreams, meditations, and possibly some form of a higher power.
This card in reverse indicates an overturning of previous states of confusion and/or constraint. Newfound freedom is possible and there is a light at the end of the tunnel that could signify a period of feeling stuck that is coming to an end. What has been taken can be returned, but efforts will need to be made so that freedom can overcome restrictions.
Additional Cards: Strength Reversed, 9 of Swords
When combined with the 8 of Swords Reversed, Strength Reversed can refer to a challenge related to global health issues and/or disease outbreaks and that could be spread by and/or detected in water. Based on the number eight which relates to the 8th house and Scorpio, this card can be a warning of a highly contagious sexually transmitted disease that increases isolation. This illness might initially be compared to syphilis because it could (politically incorrectly) be portrayed in some news shows as causing “madness” in more severe cases if a temporary cognitive symptom related to fevers becomes associated with it, but that isn’t the whole story and won’t exactly be deemed as accurate.
This is a tarot card reading and I am not a healthcare practitioner so please consult with your physician if you are in need of medical care.*
An aspect of the 9 of Swords is emotional consequences from external events. This is a card about processing and overcoming trauma, and can generally indicate healing, but only after a seriously restrictive illness has been endured. Restrictiveness is coming up in this vision as an extension of the binding portrayed in the figure in the 8 of Swords. I don’t fully understand it. I see someone stopping during a sidewalk stroll, their eyes get big, and they suddenly struggle to breathe. There is possibly some kind of ptosis associated with this, perhaps in the early stages. Vision could be affected but like the blindfold in this picture, it can be removed and so can some of these symptoms. The word “Victorian” is associated with this vision, possibly in connection with something that occurred during that time period.
Vision as related to technology (such as eye fatigue or eye issues from long-term computer use) may be indicated because of the blindfold in the image so it could become more common to use protective lenses with computers in the future as their light sources change and improve but also possibly intensify in output. Based on the story told by these three cards, July is a challenging month, but that is for a reason: the louder and faster the problems of the climate crisis become, the more likely we are to hear those messages and act expeditiously. The crisis is serious, urgent, and irreversible, therefore the warnings will need to be just as serious, urgent, and, in some cases, irreversible.
These cards, pulled before today’s devastating Supreme Court decision to overturn Roe v. Wade was revealed, also indicate physical difficulties (Strength Reversed) and emotional sorrow (9 of Swords) resulting from a lack of access to healthcare (Strength Reversed). However, also contained in the 9 of Swords is the seed of the 9 of Swords Reversed, which indicates an eventual release or relief from turmoil—but not without a fight first.
Viking Rune Stone of the Month: Inguz
Most rune stone sets I have worked with contained twenty-five stones, whereas some standard tarot decks offer seventy-eight cards. Therefore, one rune stone can reflect or partially connect to the meaning of more than one tarot card. This also means that each rune stone has a broader meaning than a tarot card, and thus can be more open to interpretation. There is a lot of ancient wisdom in the runes. Their meanings can be further illuminated by connecting them with similar sister tarot cards, and vice versa, which is part of the reason that I added rune stones to tarot card readings.
World News from the Future
The 8 of Swords Reversed indicates freedom from difficulty. Whereas the 2 of Swords Reversed meant undesirable choices in June, July brings about new choices and chances that point to greater freedom of opportunity when it comes to international conflict, negotiation, and treaties. If there was a feeling of stasis in June, know that the 8 of Swords Reversed in July indicates forward movement.
I had a vision in meditation this week of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visiting Kyiv and forming an important alliance between Canada and Ukraine. The relationship between these countries will grow in significance beyond what has already been established. When an image in meditation is extremely clear as if I am watching it on a television in front of me, and if it arises without prompting (e.g. is not arising from imagination) it is all the more likely to take place. In other words, this alliance is fated, or “written in the stars” and unable to be changed or undone with any action. In this vision, Trudeau was standing in front of a golden chair. Zelenskyy was not in the image but I sensed he was nearby as if in the same or an adjoining room but the photo focused on Trudeau. The chair was both symbolic and literal. Canada may act as an intermediary between Ukraine and the U.S. in ways that the U.S. cannot due to sensitive diplomatic issues and potential volatility between the U.S. and Russia.
In other upcoming world news, and primarily based on the 8 of Swords Reversed, the pox and/or additional illnesses are capable of spreading significantly in July and beyond.* This tragic issue might morph into something more but nonetheless brings attention to the climate emergency. COVID-19 didn’t diminish fossil fuel use as it could have; the diseases and restrictions will keep coming until we do. The circumstances have to be noticeable and virtually bring the world to a halt once again so that we pay attention and take appropriate action. As more contagious illnesses come to the surface, issues related to environmental concerns will eventually garner more air time in future news. Listen to the signs and solutions will align.
Predictive dreams related to the 8 of Swords Reversed: A dream of a sudden, near-future eruption, possibly in or around when the Sun is in Capricorn/December (but possibly promoted by an event or showing early signs of this when the Sun is in Leo). In this dream, the event was being compared on the news to the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD in Pompeii, Herculaneum, and some surrounding villas of Naples.
TRIGGER WARNING
I had a dream about a rat on Thursday night which may indicate something related to a plague. I was laying down on the ground near a Christmas tree, surrounded by people who were awake. I was awake but my eyes were closed. I felt a rat crawl across my stomach but I was not afraid. I felt amused and I knew it would go away. People continued to talk around me and were worried about the rat, and some were terrified at the sight of it, but I was not (I also couldn’t see, like the blindfolded image in the 8 of Swords). The reason I felt no fear was because I knew I had dreamed of the rat before and it went away in those dreams so it was certain to disappear, which it did shortly after that thought. Yet in the reality of my previous dreams, I have not dreamt of this rat. This was only a recurring dream in the reality of this the dream world, but not in the reality of the history of my own dreams. Does that make sense? In that sense, it was something of a lucid dream. In terms of predictions, this felt like a reprise of a bubonic plague that may cause stomach symptoms. Based on the reactions I heard around me, it frightened many but was overcome in time.
END OF TRIGGER WARNING
After the rat disappeared, I moved on to an adventure dream around the theme of space travel. I’ve had many dreams about preparing for space travel over the years and all of them felt exciting. I’m not saying it’s something to be excited about, especially considering possible implications for the environment, but what I do when I analyse these dreams is track the emotions associated with them to extract additional meaning(s) without judgment of what I think I “should” or “should not” have been feeling. It’s possible that the general feeling in the public about space travel will be that of excitement and hope, but that doesn’t mean that upcoming emotions and anticipation will match the outcome. I will explain more when I recall other space travel dreams for you about being on the way to each destination, and those that portray my arrival back on Earth. All of these are detailed, realistic dreams about travelling and it felt quite ordinary and normal to be embarking on these adventures. In my dream last night, I was being directed by an astrophysicist to check my baggage and make sure I’d packed everything I needed, but his son embarked on one of the flights first and he was distracted about whether or not the son had packed enough. I checked my luggage and there wasn’t much in my black duffel bag. I had a few pens but didn’t feel that would be enough. I wanted more pens so I could write down everything about my travels, particularly so I could post them here for you. I suppose the dream turned out alright because I had enough pens to write it down and share it with you today.
U.S. News from the Future
In U.S. News, the 8 of Swords Reversed can signal the overturning of blocked information. The truth will come out in July and beyond, possibly in relation to the Julian Assange case and his prospective extradition to the U.S. justice system. There will be more pushback and protests in connection with this case than ever before, especially in the U.S. and Australia, and ultimately in defence of freedom of the press and against corruption around the globe. Furthermore, the 8 of Swords Reversed suggests new levels of revelations about internal Congressional corruption that led to the January 6th 2021 Capitol riots.
Abortion Decision
Following the success of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s, right-wing politicians didn’t have an issue to campaign on so they shifted to misogyny in an attempt to appeal to their voters who largely wanted to maintain control of the economic power they had held for generations and centuries. Of course, there is racism interwoven into this misogyny. This was when abortion was latched onto as a party issue, not as a genuine belief or out of concern but as a political move as an otherwise dying party attempted to stay relevant and continue fundraising on the shoulders of religion.
The overturning of Roe v. Wade is once again an attempt to remain relevant by controlling people at any cost in an effort to maintain otherwise diminishing power. Women, children, BIPOC individuals, the LGBTQ2S+ community, and anyone who suffers from poverty will continue to be attacked simply because it is easiest to attack those who are already vulnerable. For some people with disabilities, this ruling is a death sentence. This ruling will inadvertently bring more attention to disability health issues and also to disability marriage inequality. People who are suffering should never be taken advantage of, and especially should not be made to suffer more! Healthcare restrictions and lack of affordability weaken people and consume their existences to the point that they are unable to protest unjust conditions. This system of medical negligence adds insult to injury with its side effects of oppression. Injuries that cannot be treated when you don’t have access to healthcare!
Societal agreements should include a commitment to alleviate the suffering that already exists, not to worsen that suffering. Why have a government that makes our lives worse? If a government doesn’t take action toward the betterment of society, that system has become defunct and obsolete. Therefore, there will be a call for a new form of government and that process will be complicated but also expedited by the upcoming, almost unimaginable scale of climate events.
Religion, Abortion, and Politicians
Additionally, this is an attempt to show American Christianity as a party of superiority by placing its values above those of any other religious or secular belief. For instance, the Jewish faith requires abortion when it can save the life of a woman, or even if giving birth would have an adverse effect on that woman’s life, whether physically, mentally, emotionally, or otherwise, and this is the case in other religions and belief systems. The separation of church and state is not being honoured in theory or practise with the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and sets the tone for further attempts at installing a theocratic state like Iran, in which religious clerics are given the authority to make legal decisions.
The First Amendment to the US Constitution states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." Overturning Roe v. Wade is prohibiting the exercise of religions outside of Christianity. Nonetheless, it is no surprise that a hyper-nationalistic, patriotic state would promote a religion that purports itself to be superior to all others (as demonstrated in continued proselytising). American Evangelical Christianity mirrors and supports US nationalism in a way that some other religions would not. Other (although not all) belief systems include a system of questioning, but a dying political party doesn’t need or want questions, only unquestioning obedience, and faith, in order to stay in power. Questioning and critical thinking tend to reveal flaws, and the system as it stands, and as you know, is flawed. The system, and not just the parties in power, has to be overturned.
This is not just an issue of the Republican Party, or of the Democratic Party, even though they both play a part in the problems we are now facing. Who has been in power for decades? One of these parties or the other has enabled the climate crisis, whether through direct action, inaction, or both. Neither of these parties and no one party is the answer, nor is any one person or party or religion or theory going to save us. The change will come from the people in large numbers and over a sustained period of time, making demands, striking from working and buying products, and supporting one another all the while to make this possible. A refusal to participate in the parts of the system that can be changed can change the system. For instance, I see a shift to widespread yet local trading systems through frequent community fairs that overshadows current reliance on imported purchases. The communal support component of strikes will be important because this the survival of late-stage capitalism is dependent on most of us being too poor, sick, or overworked to protest. GoFundMe has been preparing us for this notion of collective funding to lift up those who lack family support. There is hardly any social safety net for those who have no family in this country. And if we are forming our own personal government through GoFundMe and mutual support, especially for medical financing, why do we pay taxes to a government that isn’t providing healthcare?
Meanwhile, American religions that are politically involved in campaign funding, and therefore influencing political decisions, continue to collect donations and enjoy tax-exempt status. There are positive aspects to religion and certainly to spirituality, but those who are blinded by this stunt to use religion as a cover for crimes against vulnerable people are in the minority. Why does this continue to happen? The people who are supporting this are vulnerable themselves, usually economically. Others who support a party that is moving further to the right all the time are in it for the tax breaks but often don’t subscribe to the accompanying religion which acts as PR for the masses. As I’ve conjectured before, a lack of universal healthcare makes people vulnerable to faith healing, and politicians know that people will turn to faith and stop demanding healthcare if the pastors and other promoters of American Evangelical Christianity are charismatic and persuasive enough—or at least as charismatic and persuasive as a politician.
Have you noticed that many of these evangelical pastors are older white men, the same as many of the politicians who promote them? As in ancient Greece, when only wealthy landowners could participate in government, agendas that are being pushed forward by those in power will only tend to suit those who are in power or the ones in their social circle. Robbing people of women’s rights and civil rights is a tactic to keep those who have been in power for generations, in power. In future times, economic justice will be a gateway to racial justice. Economic justice is necessary for racial justice, and economic and racial justice will be imperative for ensuring climate justice. There is no other way. But first, expect the Supreme Court to shut down nearly every ruling that protects human, animal, and environmental rights—at least the ones they can get away with. Next up will be the Supreme Court’s ruling against permitting EPA the necessary agency to regulate climate emissions. That will affect other countries, so in a way, every nation that continues to enable fossil fuel use will be waging a war on the world. This means that the wealthiest nations of the world are fighting against one another even as they are destroying themselves. No one wins in a war. Only solidarity and working together have ever worked for maintaining human survival, and dealing with the climate emergency will be no different. Therefore, the anti-war movement and climate strikes will inevitably need to intersect.
Citizens United Against the Climate Crisis
If decisions about gun rights, abortion rights, and the future of the climate for thousands of years to come can be made by the Supreme Court, how can voting alone be enough when we don’t vote for Supreme Court justices? It’s absurd that nine flawed people (and we are all flawed) continue to hold a lifetime of unequal power that gives them the ability to make life-altering and sometimes life-ending decisions for over 300 million people. According to the 8 of Swords Reversed, what is overturned can be overturned again. This can be interpreted as meaning that the court will be expanded in numbers while contracting in significance. In the vision I am having as a result of the 8 of Swords, it appears that this diminishing importance of the court will be due in part to a greater power being given to future tribal counsels in federal decision-making processes. Having said that, all of this won’t happen for some years. Overall, the circumstances of restricting women’s rights and promoting the rights of guns as having more value than humans is emphasising the importance of demanding social change. Granting personhood to unsympathetic corporations has resulted in the de facto granting of personhood to destructive inanimate objects in the form of guns that enjoy more rights to exist than the lives of every person. Hurtful guns and harmful corporations are outliving innocent people. Yet people make laws, not guns or corporations, and laws can be changed and reversed.
Sometimes circumstances become extreme before extreme protests take place. The consensus in news broadcasts will be that these marches and strikes need to be peaceful due to police violence. As a result of a near-future mishap, these demonstrations will embark on creative and innovative approaches. It looks like anything even slightly unexpected or out of bounds will be met with an unprecedented military force that will not be discouraged by those in power who have the ability to protect protestors who are exercising their rights to free speech and peaceful assembly. There will be a lot of rhetoric and very little action on the part of figureheads in charge.
A military that has been constantly at war and invading other countries for decades will not hesitate to turn on its own people. Have you ever seen a more controlling military in the history of the world, especially considering the scale of its reach and access to weapons of war? Do you think that an entity so obsessed with and invested in control wouldn’t turn that power against its own people to stay in power and maintain control? The U.S. will be mirroring Russia in its relinquishing of women’s and LGBTQ2S+ rights and use of military force to repress freedoms through increasing authoritarianism. Since private prisons provide corporate labour, the more who are imprisoned, the more profit that yields for large corporations and those (including some politicians) who own stocks in them. Impoverished individuals will be targeted for imprisonment simply because they cannot afford to pay bail, and in the U.S. that is not a small percentage of the population. However, general strikes and workers’ strikes can hit the economy in noticeable ways that will be effective but the numbers of participants have to be significant. The government can and would keep propping up the stock market during this time to protect the interests of the ultra-wealthy, but a continued refusal to work will eventually affect the economy so persistence will be imperative. All of this unrest is practise for an upcoming uprising related to the climate crisis.
Midterm Elections: Dissension or Action?
According to the 8 of Swords, the outcome of politics in upcoming midterm elections will depend on an expansion of social programmes—or lack thereof. Frankly, there will be a lack. Races appear to be close. An emphasis on supporting workers through student debt cancellation, more affordable childcare, and increased school safety programmes will be needed to elect more progressives, or even moderates, to office. By moderates I mean those who would have been considered to be moderate throughout most of the twentieth-century United States, not the current notion of “moderate” which is moving further to the right due to an increase in campaigns in both major parties that are funded by the same large corporate donors. This card combined with Inguz implies that systems like the FEC will eventually be abolished and replaced. While it will take many years, there will be an increased call for an implementation of a Constitutional Amendment that clarifies corporations are not to be regarded as or confused with humans, and that corporate entities are neither equal nor superior to people. At the same time as Citizens United is close to being successfully overturned, robot rights will be on the rise.
Based on this month’s card, the outlook for midterm elections is a changeover of power. The power structure looks lopsided. The current distribution of authority will become more out of balance, including in upcoming elections, until there is a loud demand from a large group of people that results in a more protective and progressive direction. In other words, the political spectrum pendulum moves further and further right until it later swings to the far left, but it will. I plan to look more specifically into details about upcoming elections with tarot card readings in future posts.
Getting money out of politics is going to be critical for combatting not only the climate crisis but also encroaching fascism. The practise of taking PAC money for federal campaigns and continuing to control candidates following their election is going to become more exposed and therefore less tolerated. A nation cannot act in the interests of humanity or of any of the beings and nature on its land when there are financial conflicts of interest that cause politicians to follow the orders of corporate leaders over the needs of the people. What is the point of a government that does not support the property, life, or well-being of living beings? That is a government that does not honour life, is without life, and will eventually be declared essentially “dead” before it is restructured by those who demand en masse that this defunct, inefficient system change for the betterment of our collective future.
Predictions of Future News Trends: Brand names, along with the notion of “clout”, are going out of style by 2023. There will be signs of an end to outdated brand-name and celebrity worship by this summer that deepens the unpopularity of the notion of “popularity” by fall and beyond. Religion and politics will increasingly intersect, with more religious leaders running for office, especially American Evangelical Christian televangelists. One of these pastors will try to run for President and the implications are dangerous as this person has personality qualities akin to that of a cult leader and appears to suffer from an untreated, complex combination of personality disorders. A question about this theocratic phenomenon that comes up in near-future news will be how these religious organisations can remain tax-exempt while involved in politics to the point of running for office. This concern will become a popular topic of discussion, particularly over the next few years and in anticipation of the upcoming midterm elections.
Mass Movement to Mitigate Work
Additionally, there will be a significant near-future movement to move away from “productiveness”, particularly in the form of traditional work that supports a system of favouring large corporations that benefit landlords who also own already-wealthy corporations and/or management companies. In terms of large corporations, there will be an attempt on behalf of a mass movement of people to overtake them over in the next five to ten years. How would that happen? Raising funding together, there will be an attempt to purchase and repurpose corrupt and therefore disgraced organisations for public use. A bold claim on the part of the cards, but the big events of the climate crisis will cause unusual tactics to be taken in a heroic effort to transform our world. Furthermore, the mass movement to mitigate work will happen to overlap with mass migration. Immigration restrictions will increase. U.S. workers will cease to be willing to produce as much. Exports and imports become stalled, and local and personal production and growth will be accentuated. A return to a more nineteenth-century style of self-subsistence through community farming and communal living as a way to reduce material use and circumvent corporate dependence will be a positive development as “degrowth” begins to grow in popularity. Pandemics will not only act as a catalyst for taking quicker action on the climate crisis, but they will also revolutionise the economy and the way we think about and share the fruits of our labour.
In other future U.S. protest news, I see a nationwide and eventually global “Do Nothing” movement (with an accompanying catchy theme song) and campaign in protest of late-stage capitalism. Part of this shift in perceived productiveness is supported by a True Node in Taurus, and an unusual manifestation of this trend is reflected in Uranus in Taurus. Expect revolutionary innovations in farming and working methods to be revealed, and slowly (but reliably) implemented in multiple parts of the world. Some of these “farms” will exist as labs in multi-level buildings that have greenery on the inside and outside of their structures and power some of their energy from the soil and other structures that include what look like white pipes below. These innovative agricultural techniques will continue to be used and eventually built upon in future times. There will soon be a new field of agriculture due to adaptation to climate and environmental changes. This approach will rely on ancient ways of working with nature while experimenting with revolutionary technology.
The culture of being praised for workaholism is present in many countries and the United States is one of those nations where being overworked is particularly celebrated. The worship of work is about to shift, at least for those who engage in mass walkouts from jobs in order to 1) demand shifts in gun laws, and 2) protest the unjust presence of large corporations in influencing political decisions through oligarchical lobbying. Campaign finance reform will be a majorly highlighted issue in anticipation of the midterm elections.

Future News for You
According to the 8 of Swords Reversed in conjunction with Inguz, if you were feeling restricted in June, you might find relief from stagnancy in or around July. If you were not able to move forward, you will likely soon find out why you were being blocked by one or more obstacles on your way to a goal, or you could be given an additional choice and/or resource that allows you to move forward with your vision in a new way that wasn’t available to you before. Now is a time to think of how you will use your newfound resource, no matter which area of your life you may find is opening up to you in new ways that might not have been available before. Sometimes the resource is spiritual and the 8 of Swords indicates a cognitive capability that could include meditation, dreams, or visions. Overall, the 8 of Swords Reversed, Inguz, and Jupiter in Aries (when it is direct) can signify a new beginning.

Another interpretation of Inguz is release from constraints, bringing faith and hope of renewal. In relationships, this rune can indicate second chances, setting the "restart" button in relationships, or starting over after a period of mutual growth.
Hi Kyra, I've been following you on your website and Twitter for years now, and have recently become a subscriber here. I love reading your blog posts and the posts here on substack!
I'd like to ask for your guidance on a relationship with someone I met during eclipse season earlier this year. He seemed almost perfect, until the Black Moon Lilith conjunct Sun on the 30th of June, when he revealed to have a drug addiction and that he'd be moving back to his home country in Winter.
Yesterday, on the Capricorn Full Moon, we had a huge fight and cut contact with each other. I feel an intense past life connection with him, but given the circumstances, it feels like now is not the right time for a relationship.
I've been drawing both the Hanged Man and the Two of Cups for how he sees the relationship (former) and for the relationship outcome (latter). My question is, do you see any possibility of reconnection in the future for me and him?
