In future world news for June of 2022, the concept of having a “boss” is dying. Based on this month’s card of The Star, you get to be the star of the show in future times as employee collectives and employee-owned organisations gradually replace outdated corporate leadership models. In other tarot-inspired news from the future, astronomy developments will be compared to astrology. How will astrologers respond to this comparison, one which has come up before and that will undoubtedly arise again? From one perspective, astrology can be regarded as a language, and one that has been spoken for thousands of years. In a similar way that we read spiritual signs in nature, we can look to observed phenomena in the universe and beyond Earth for signals of patterns and anticipations of predictions. While two people can be born on the same day and in the same span of hours, and can even be identical twins, they will have differences in their personalities and choices. Why is this?
While astrology represents one aspect of who we are, and can offer a significant description of our traits, there are also genetic, cultural, past life, and other experiences that will contribute to our development. There is also the element of choice. While two people can be born with many of the same traits there’s no guarantee that they will continue to be as similar or make the same choices after encountering and processing different life events. From the earliest time that I began studying astrology in the ninth grade after I found my first book of tables (before astrology software existed), my signs and houses helped me to understand why I had certain tendencies and interests.
For instance, I was born with virtually no athletic ability or interest and I do not have any Aries or 1st House placements in my chart. I am also not naturally practical (it’s something I needed to learn and work on) and my chart is almost entirely bereft of Earth signs (with the exception of Midheaven in Taurus). On the other hand, almost half of my placements are in the 4th House and I have had a lifelong love of history, as well as uncanny convergences with historical reenactments (although maybe this is not uncommon in the United States? One of my first jobs was as a Civil War reenactor, is this normal?).
Looking at my chart for the first time helped to reinforce my skills and interests, and I felt a certain support from gaining that knowledge. Maybe some of you can relate to this benefit of having a life plan, direction, or reinforcement of what you already loved so clearly delineated in a description that matches up with the exact time and place you were born. Additionally, once I had a grasp of my natal chart, I explored other people’s charts which helped me to understand them and our relationships, and by doing so, I became even more aware of my purpose. I can only speak from my own experience, but astrology gave me peace, comfort, and an understanding of human behaviour that I’d never had before up to that point. Astrology was also more affordable than counselling in the U.S. (and more effective at providing support than war reenactments).

Example: How to Read Cards Sequentially
This week, I will be posting a follow-up to this article which will be a guided meditation recording about The Star card (“Altered States in Audio: The Star Tarot”). In this audio recording series, I will take you on a tour of different tarot card decks from around the world using altered states of consciousness. These dream journeys, guided meditations, and hypnotic explorations will help the cards communicate to you in a personal language that is unique to who you are and what you seek. By returning to The Star card and recording over time, you will find that new messages and guidance will continue to be revealed to you.
All readers are welcome to post comments and questions about the history of spirituality and world or US news predictions in the Q&A.
Premium subscribers are invited to ask questions about your own life in the Q&A. I will pull a tarot card and use psychic channeling to answer your question.
Tarot Card of the Month: The Star
The Star features a figure pouring water into a body of water. In the distance is a tree with an oversized bird whose colour matches the containers from which the woman in this image pours water. Above her we see eight stars, one of which is larger than the other seven. Flowers grow out of the area where she transfers some of the water from the lake and into the earth. One of her feet seems to be raised above the earth and from the bottom of her foot grows a cluster of flowers more abundant than the sparser individual flowers featured in other areas of the picture. Her second foot rests in an unlikely spot: on top of the body of water itself. The unlikely and almost impossible position of her feet beings about a question: is she human or does she represent an ethereal being? Is she herself a manifestation of The Star?
The Star card is literally about the stars, so a card that can be interpreted as representing astrology in some readings. If astrology is not your personal language, that is okay. There are many spiritual languages to choose from and most of us find that a combination of them can help answer some of the mysterious questions of life. I went through a phase where I doubted astrology. Actually, it was two episodes of uncertainty but they were short-lived and I will tell you why (please share your own stories in the comments).
First of all, I had convinced myself that there was no scientific basis for its system. This was after a university astronomy course in which the professor stated that astrology needs to take planetary precession into account and that was his justification for not believing in astrology. I later learned that astrology can take not only the precession of the planets but also transits and progressions into account.
Next, I became interested in Carl Sagan’s Cosmos, which I have watched and been delighted by multiple times. I appreciate its encouragement of curiosity and questioning. However, as I am sure you are aware if you’ve watched it, there is an episode in which Sagan offers an indictment of astrology. However, his critique is from the perspective of not being able to identify astrology as a science, which it is not. Just because a practise isn’t scientific that doesn’t place it outside the realm of personal value or meaning. Art, religion, and spirituality aren’t scientific, yet they have existed since the early stages of humanity and there’s a reason for that.
The arts and spirituality give us something we need but the experiences they engender also stem from valid personal, and sometimes nearly universal, truths. I continue to read and watch Carl Sagan’s work and just because I may have a differnt perspective about one of his opinions or observations does not mean that I will deprive myself of learning from the rest of his insights, which are communicatively enriching as well as being significant contributions to the field of astrophysics.
Back to The Star, this tarot card has connections with Aquarius and is generally considered a good omen. However, keep in mind that a tarot card reveals one aspect of the time period that is being read. Other cards, astrological aspects, and personal journeys would also be considered in addition to the clues provided by the cards that are drawn for these monthly updates.
World News from the Future
In the sequential order of the Major Arcana cards, The Star follows The Tower. A tower can indicate a fall, like an abrupt ending of a job or relationship that upends your sense of stability. The Star represents an experience that happens after the fall, which is calmness, stability, and hope. The Star can signify a period when you accept previous events that caused a change or disruption in your life (The Tower) and begin to see how this new path is going to bring you to greater places than where you were headed before you encountered a loss. The Tower taketh but then The Star giveth.
In future world news, the concept of having an “employer” is on its way out, although it will take years for this new way of life to take effect. This shift will be instigated by major layoffs like never before, but The Star represents a new plan and some hope in the aftermath of these setbacks. New systems of collective and connective employment will gradually replace the traditionally hierarchical employment systems of the past. Suits will take on a more symbolic or nostalgic place in the wardrobes of workers, so while they won’t be expected as often they will never really disappear. Hats make a comeback this year and next. But back to June of 2022!
At the same time, this trend of shifting from authoritarian leadership to a more egalitarian (or Aquarian) system will be reflected in politics, with a near-global call for less power in the hands of the few. As a result, we will see the power that used to be afforded to presidents (both corporate and national—although who can tell the difference anymore when politicians accept bribes from and therefore work for corporations?) and CEOs will gradually disintegrate. CEOs of major corporations will not step down without legal battles, both between corporations and between corporations and governments as protestors attempt to divorce themselves from corporate rule. I see this trend of diminishing corporate power showing up in a significant way in the near-future news of northern Europe, and instigated by summer firestorms and floods caused by the climate crisis. Eventually, new organisations form that are more aligned with basic principles that the majority of people believe in and want to support.
We are also going to see campaigning against hereditary wealth in news articles in June and July, particularly that of royalty, and due to written revelations based on unearthed records about spending and scandals of the British royal family that will threaten to crumble their empire. Expect a major reboot of images of the royal family.
U.S. News from the Future
The Star card, when applied to the timespan of a month, can mean that this will be a time of healing, power, and the will to carry on. When you get The Star in a future or new-future position of a tarot reading, the prediction can be akin to the light at the end of a tunnel, bringing realisations and renewed inspiration whereas before you may have felt you were in the dark.
I am seeing a headband but more like a fabric that ould be tied around someone’s forehead and looks like it’s torn from clothing, mostly red in colour. It looks very much like a Rambo bandana, only wider and tattered and torn, but Bohemian. I think it will serve a purpose, as masks do, only this is related to something else. Perhaps this new disease is contagious through sweat? The bandana also seems to be a political symbol, like red flags I’ve seen unfurling on balconies across the United States in the future, there is something about this bandana that might start out as a health measure but comes to symbolise an upcoming revolutionary movement that grows in other countries but might begin and/or take off significantly in the United States.
The cards have also been indicating an increase in random violence from hate groups. I had a nightmare about New York and possibly a targeted religious incident in or around June. As always, I would rather be wrong about these kinds of dreams and events that show up in the tarot. While I wish bad things didn’t happen in the news, part of looking at the future through the cards, dreams, and other means is about being honest and providing warnings in case they might be helpful to someone.
At least according to this reading, the tragic May 24th mass shooting attack on elementary school children and teachers in Texas will instigate mass protests in the U.S. against gun violence like never before. You may be thinking, “Really? It didn’t happen with Sandy Hook, it didn’t happen with Columbine, but this time will be different?” The losses are just as harrowing, senseless, and horrifyingly irrevocable, but yes, this time the response is different. Not from politicians, but from citizens en masse who will pressure them. Perhaps it is something about the pandemic and climate crisis converging with ongoing mass shootings, but people are at or beyond a breaking point. As a result, there is a heightened impetus to take action on the continued inaction of too many people in power who have been accepting blood money bribes from the NRA in exchange for the lives of children.
In future news and history books, part of the perspective on some of these politicians who pose as religious zealots will be that they were willing to force babies to be born so they can be murdered for sport, all in the interest of making a profit for the NRA who then shares a cut of those profits with these same politicians. Why are politicians being allowed to accept bribes from, work for, and speak on behalf of the NRA?
Also in the U.S., a similar call to that of the UK to restrict hereditary wealth is a movement that will be suppressed by police forces but that will emerge again and again in near-future years.

Future News for You
If you are asking about any kind of relationship, this card can indicate an Aquarius. The Star can also provide hope for releasing the past, whether the Querent has already let go of it and is now enjoying a new way of life or is on the verge of being ready to release an old pattern. Otherwise, whether your mind is more on career or spirituality this month, The Star provides points of inspiration for leaping forward into a more positive state of mind.
While this month will bring about temporary scarcity as a signal to those in power that actions must be taken on the climate crisis (e.g. a decrease in the shipping of international food items), if you can personally stay in the gratitude through these times you will find you have more of what you need than you initially may have thought. Keep your eyes on the stars, both in the sky and in your life, to guide the path forward no matter what may come your way. And whatever does come your way, it is always temporary.

Tarot-Astro Reading
The Star card matches up with Saturn Retrograde in Aquarius on June 4th at 15 degrees. Since The Star is upright despite this being a retrograde (which sometimes matches up with tarot cards in reverse), there is hope that this retrograde will bring about better circumstances from lessons learned that relate to political retractions or delays.
This could be an auspicious month for Geminis or those with Mercury in Gemini, beginning with Mercury turning direct on June 3rd and entering one of its home signs of Gemini on June 13th. With the Sun entering Cancer on June 21st and a New Moon in Cancer on June 28th, there is an opportunity for a fresh start for those with Sun or Moon in Cancer. Sagittarians can look forward to emotional clarity during a Full Moon in Sagittarius on June 14th.
Pisces (especially those with Neptune in Pisces) and those who are particularly spiritually inclined might experience a redirection of spiritual or religious goals during the Neptune Retrograde in Pisces beginning June 28th (of course you can factor in shadow dates, which can be about two to three days before and after a Retrograde). Additionally, the Neptune Retrograde in Pisces is not an opportune time to experiment with previously unknown material circumstances (unless recommended by a physician) as there is could be a heightened danger of unexpected outcomes.* New beginnings are possible for Virgos during the May 7th First Quarter Moon is in Virgo. June 3rd to 12th is a positive time for communication for Taureans since Mercury will be direct in your sign during that window.
No matter what your Sun Sign is, you can combine the meaning of this card and its Aquarian qualities with some of the traits of your Sun Sign. For instance, Aquarius is an Air Sign so in terms of tarot, The Star would indicate community, political engagement, or a message of hope for Aquarius, but also to some extent for Gemini and Libra. Fire signs are compatible with Air, so Aries and Sagittarius could experience a deepened commonality with Air Signs at this time. Local politics, the joining of groups with common goals, and the creation of innovative and sometimes ingenious community-oriented projects will be a common theme in June.
Despite being a Fire Sign, Leo is the opposite sign of Aquarius. Therefore, when Aquarius rules the month in tarot, this could be a time when Leo experiences less energy around groups of friends or groups in general. If your Sun Sign is in Scorpio or Capricorn, you might be more introspective this month, and that is for a higher purpose that is preparing you for the energy you will need for the rest of the summer and into the fall. More details on what your sign can expect this month, as well as further predictions for you based on tarot, astrology, and psychic channeling, will be published in upcoming “This Week in Tarot” posts.
