Life and Afterlife Coaching: Reflections on Relationships
On last week’s episode, “With a Little Help from my Fiends”, we discussed the many ways in which foes can bring us our greatest life lessons. These can be people who seem to create a crisis in our lives. The Chinese word for crisis contains one character for “danger” and one for “opportunity”. Perhaps every encounter is an opportunity, if we're willing to make it so. People can show us our greatest potential. What others are capable of, we are often capable of as well. Hence, no need for jealousy when seeing that the internal characteristics demonstrated by others is the Universe showing us where we could be at some point...for better or worse, depending on our choices.
When someone behaves in a way that we don’t like, we can learn from their experiences and we can also use those lessons to further shape our own character and become the best person we can be-in friendships, in love relationships, and with the world at large. Life lessons and difficult relationships can sometimes cost us time and resources, but that's the price we pay for an invaluable education. For more information on how to recognise when those around us are reflecting our potential, please read Shakti Gawain’s Living in the Light, which includes some helpful meditations for understanding and improving relationships.
