Life and Afterlife Coaching: "Does Age Difference Make a Difference in Dating?"
On tonight's show we talked about age differences, and whether or not dating someone much older or younger can be a crucial deciding factor in the longevity of a relationship. On the one hand, it can matter when you're both still young enough to be going through some major life changes in the future. Developments in one's career, location or phase of life are a challenging test for any relationship. When one of us is in a time of life rife with frequent transformation, the relationship might be tested more often than with two people who are more settled into life. However, a true love between two emotionally healthy people still has a chance of lasting through any hardship, for as the great Latin poet Virgil said, "love conquers all". Additionally, on a spiritual level, it makes sense that age is not as much of a factor when you meet someone whom you've known for perhaps hundreds or even thousands of years throughout many previous lifetimes. Who's counting at that point?

As we get older, a significant age difference can become less of an issue because there aren't as many radical phases for us to encounter. As we become more comfortable with who we are and less concerned about what others think, we feel free to show up in a relationship as our authentic selves, and being genuine is an important component in maintaining a balanced, meaningful long-term relationship with another person who is not only sincere about who they are, but sincere about the love they have for us.
