How to Recognise Relationship Premonitions in Dreams

How can you differentiate between hopes and fears in dreams? Furthermore, is it possible to recognise the differences between your own hopeful and fearful thoughts and premonitions? Can dreams provide hints about whether or not you’re making a prediction or if you’re just imagining something you want (hopes) or don’t want (fears)? Figuring out if your dream is providing a glimpse into the future can be especially challenging when you’re the one having the dream, particularly if the content of your dream involves an emotionally charged experience like a relationship.

However, there are some steps you can take to discover if your dream is giving you a preview of what’s to come or helping you to process the present or past. For instance, have you ever dreamt of someone you’ve never met before and later met a person who looked or felt like the person in your dream? If so, think back to the qualities of that dream and your memory can start to give you some clues about how to identify your own precognitive dreams.

In general, the first step to figuring out if your dreams are giving you a “preview of coming attractions” is to establish what constitutes a premonition. If your thoughts, feelings, or even suspicions match up with certain precognitive qualities (which I will review below based on my own dream experiences and studies), this will be helpful information for preparing or warning you about potential future events.

If your dreams or intuitions do not match up with prediction-associated criteria then you might be processing hopes and/or fears. In that case, you can use the following guidelines to transform these thoughts into more productive states of mind that reflect how you want to think and feel. Furthermore, the timing of your dream as well as what took place before you went to sleep can provide additional hints about what your dream is trying to communicate to you. Dreams about relationships can be a supportive source of information that helps with processing and healing situations of the past, offering insights into present growth, and preparing you for delightful adventures in the future.
