Dear Kyra: "Time to Trade in this Trade"
Dear Kyra,
I find myself in many temporary work situations with haphazard structures and frenetic people. I ultimately over-perform and then feel marginalized by under-qualified superiors. Every experience creates inner turmoil and a sense of failure from repetition. While I learn new skills, ways of dealing with difficult people and live by quiet assertion, I'm still stuck in a version of Groundhog Day--different environment, same old situation. What do I need to do or learn to emerge? What does my past life inform in my current one? -Time to Trade in this Trade, CA December 14th, 1975Dear Time,Your North Node, Rising Sign and Venus in Scorpio means that you are capable of creating deep and lasting transformation in your life when you have the determination to accomplish something that interests you. As a Past Life Taurus with your North Node in Scorpio, you are meant to transform what you learned from previous lifetimes of practical work into something deeply meaningful in this lifetime (due to the strong presence of Scorpio and Sagittarius in your chart). On a more physical level, your North Node in Scorpio can indicate that you are meant to be involved with information and computer technology. Mercury in Capricorn combined with a Sun in Sagittarius means that you would be an excellent teacher for adult students. Your Mercury is in the Second House, which imbues you with a grounded, realistic and resourceful nature; yet with a Sun conjunct Neptune in Sagittarius, you are also deeply spiritual. A perfect balance! As a result of these sensible and metaphysical traits, you will tend to seek work that is both practical and purposeful.
There may be a conflict between wanting to work for yourself and being comfortable with working for others, as your chart indicates that you may alternate between being independent and compliant, depending on what's needed to adapt to any given situation. This can be useful when starting out in the business world, but you are currently moving into a phase where you will find opportunities that are less dutiful and more self-governing. Owning your own business or partnering with others in building a company where you have a lot of decision-making power would be ideal for someone with your chart. Ultimately, you are meant to be more of a leader than a follower, and right now you are on a journey to create your own reality as an innovator in your field of interest. Many large corporations will continue to approach you with offers, but if those have not been working out or are temporary in form, it's because you are being led by the Universe to pursue a path of higher consciousness by having more freedom in your work. That doesn't mean you can't work for a large company and still be fulfilled, it just means that you are also supposed to have your own company that provides you with both creative freedom and a safety net of additional security. You also will likely develop a company with your lifetime partner. Your Mars in Gemini in the Eighth House indicates that you have a strong presence and a deep need for personal security. Another positive aspect of your chart in relation to future employment is that your Moon in Taurus in the Sixth House means that you like to work in service-oriented professions that allow you to show your caring, sensitive side to others. You will always treat others well, no matter how successful you become, and this will be a policy that promotes longevity in your career. Another bonus of Moon in Taurus in the Sixth House is that you tend to work very hard, so if you are persistent, your diligence combined with determination should further you on the path of achievement and prosperity.
You may still have one or two more temporary situations this fall, but your Sun conjunct Neptune in Sagittarius indicates that November should be a powerful time for you to be interviewing for more fulfilling, possibly even spiritually transformative, work. You may also feel a past life connection with and attraction to those with Sun or North Node in Taurus. These individuals could provide support to you in your career, as they are likely conduits for bringing forth your positive work karma from other lifetimes. A life lesson offered by South Node in Taurus is finding the opportunity to create change, so it makes sense that feeling stuck in a work situation would be a challenge right now, especially with Saturn transiting through Scorpio for you through December 4th, 2013. You will be getting rid of old concepts of yourself during this time and formulating a new idea of who you want to be in the work world after this year. This issue of encountering limited options in work would have been strongest from November, 2011-April, 2012, from now until December of this year, and you may have one more very brief completion to this professional transformation that occurs from June-August of 2014, although the potency of this transit should be diminished as you move out of that phase (try to plan a vacation for this time!).
Back to the present moment, this current period of stasis is an excellent time for trying new solutions that you might have never attempted before. Experiment with a different tactic, and you will likely encounter a different result. If you haven't already sought help for starting your own business and have an interest in doing so, Score is an excellent organisation for seeking a small business professional who can (free of charge) mentor you in the direction to finding self-realisation in your occupation of choice.
You may still feel a sense of being "imprisoned" in your work situation for the moment, but what's really happening is that you're discarding old images of self-perception in the workplace and getting ready to embark on unchartered, exciting, and potentially lucrative territory. This situation of finding temporary work is truly temporary for you. Once you are released from this phase later this year, you will be like the phoenix, rising from the ashes to create a new life that is much more enriched and meaningful than ever before. Wishing you the best of luck in your job search, and please keep us updated on your forthcoming business ventures!
