Dear Kyra: "Karmic Relief"
Dear Kyra,
Does karma follow me from my last life? For example, if I was bad, is that why I have so many hardships this lifetime???

Dear Karmic,
Not in every case. There are times when you will be given a challenge in order to fulfil one of your life's purposes (your dharma), so not every hardship is connected to the repayment of a karmic debt. But let's take a look at your chart in order to see what kind of karma you have the opportunity to let go of and move on from in this lifetime.
Your South Node is in Aries, which means that you could have been a warrior in a past life. You will find that people may be unreasonably combative with you when you stand up for your beliefs, and you'll often be tempted to react. The challenge here is in the choice that you have to step away from the battle and not get too focused on the injustice. If you engage in the fight for anything other than self-defence, you could perpetuate this warrior karma. By letting go of the smaller clashes and asking yourself how important it is to stay engaged in each conflict, you will find more peace coming into your life for extended periods of time. You have a good heart and the best of intentions, and a lot of these conflicts may come from being misunderstood. When Mars enters Aries on March 15th with Uranus (your solar ruling planet) being in Aries at that same time, you will have an opportunity to pay off a chunk of that karmic debt. This could be in the form of an issue coming up this spring where your partner may be experiencing a legal injustice, possibly connected to work. You will be tempted to fight on her behalf, but what she really needs at this time is your help in seeing the humour of the situation. If you take your time in responding to the adversarial party before reacting emotionally, you will be able to maintain your inner peace while the situation resolves itself.
Saturn in Leo makes you an independent person, and you very likely have had at least one other lifetime where you were predominantly self-reliant and unattached to your family of origin due to an exile from your country during a time of war. Many of us who have been around for thousands of years have been involved in wars, as it was necessary for our survival and often not a choice. Karma isn't a judgment on what was right or wrong in the choices we've made during this and other lifetimes. Karma is more of an opportunity to step into someone else's shoes and see through the eyes of those you've affected in the past. By acting out the other side of experiences, we have a chance to increase empathy and therefore become increasingly compassionate for the overall good of this world's future. Coincidentally, being an inspiration for the enlightenment of others is also a part of your dharma, due to the humanitarian inclinations of your natal chart's Sun in Aquarius, Venus in Pisces, and Neptune in Sagittarius. Your current challenges give you a chance to simultaneously balance your karma while realising a major life purpose, and by doing so, to lead the way for others who seek a more meaningful, satisfying, and peaceful way of life.
